so id like to change my pinion. the stock gear in my losi 5b is a 20 tooth
how much difference would one tooth make? 1 down more torque less topend. 1 up less torque more topend
but how much of a difference will 1 make or do you nee to go 2 to see any difference?

1 Tooth on a pinion is a considerable difference. Example 18/62 has a final drive of 11.39, 19/62 is 10.79, 20/62 is 10.25. That is a very noticeable difference in the way the vehicle and motor responds. If you have a modded motor that comes on the pipe at 10-12k RPM then lowering the gear would signifcantly help get you in the pipe sooner. If you don't care about bottom end power because you are not racing then the increase in speed will be noticeable on a GPS with 1 tooth a couple mph but 2 teeth will make a very big difference to top speed easily over 5mph gained and that is a lot. Gearing is really a mater of what you are doing with the car? I generally wont go over an 18 tooth pinion but all I do is race my truck

I am racing a Losi 5ive T. I do not have any pics of the way it sits right now but I will take some tonight. We just had a race this weekend with some of the top named drives like Matt Olsen (MOD), Josh Alton (ADI), Dan Silagy (OBR), and several others

Here are a few pics of my Losi 5ive T
