I have them for under $17 http://www.rcpitstop.net/5th-scale-xt-xb-xb-e.htmlThat is like a 35$ item correct.
It is an external failsafe. It is not any good.What does the inline switch or whatever that came with the car do? (It was a wire with an inline couple of LED/s I installed it but didn't find the actual purpose referenced anywhere).
Don't bother with that external failsafe.philztoy said:RC dad I ordered some parts from your website. Was wondering about that fail safe that comes with it mentioned above. I just go the killer bee super bee so I just remover the factory supplied one at this point right?
Let me know when you get the belt drives in. I liek the sound of that setup.
Red cat contacted me today and have looked at the engine. Wanted to know the run conditions up until I sent it to them. Pretty good turn around on them looking at it. He hasn't said what was wrong yet.
Sorry to hear that....philztoy said:I'm willing to admit I didn't give it the proper breaking in, but I didn't pull it apart and suck in a loose wire in the first 15 minutes. I never even took the air cleaner off until days later. So... this was my response.
Andy;
I NEVER took the engine apart. Where do you see that in my e-mail? If that is what the failure is based on that is incorrect.
I am not sure what kind of evidence you are seeing that I took it apart. I gave up on the thing when the exhaust bolt was damged at the factory. That thing was delivered on a Friday. I ran it on a sunday. It started right up, less than 20 minutes later it never started again. If it sucked in a wire, it sucked it in from something inside when I got it.. I ran it for a little while it killed. On the same day, the same time ten minutes later. it started and killed. The engine never came apart I never even removed the air filter until I took the carb off the day before I sent it to you on a Wednesday three days later. The carb bolts were tight. There was no way I sucked a wire into that thing unless it was already loose somewhere inside. The wrongful self serving accusation is incorrect and uncalled for.
Will you ship the engine back please? I will rebuild the thing with better parts and buy something with a little more quality control or maybe just a little more chrome on the cylinder next time around. A little earlier today I was trying to decide between a dune runner or an xb for my next car, but now it is between a Baja or a Losi. This one apparently needs a tow onto the gun range.
