Hey guy putting a new clutch on my 5t 2.0. I bought it used rsn good for a few then started to have clutch issues. Had a TR Snapper. Now I'm putting a ufc/blackbone clutch. And my cy clutch mount is not gettiy pressed on. There some play with the bolt when all the way tighten.
I'm thinking I need to cut a bit of the boat off. Looking for some input this is my first time doing the clutch.

Thanks in advance for any help

So is this a zen engine? Stock clutch housing and clutch carrier? Show us pics of your parts as this will help. In certain instances you need to use a cy clutch holder if you are using a cy clutch housing. So my thoughts are you need to use a zen clutch holder for your application.

To add if you use that cy holder your clutch will contact the clutch housing. The zen one sits out further.

Yeah stock zen motor. With cy holder. bartolone racing clutch bell. Stock losi clutch carrier.

Do you have a zenoah clutch carrier? Only time I had to use a cy holder was putting a g320 in my v1 5ive-t
Believe the 2.0 comes with the g320 stock
This is what I pulled out of the truck

Yes it does, my point being is why and how did the cy clutch plate come to be in this situation? The reason I ask is what your not understanding here is that the 2.0 uses the zen clutch platethat ill attach a picture of. What clutch plate does the tr snapper use? The zenoah clutch plate on ddm is part #GT284 is what you need in this situation. Screenshot_20230423_231544_Chrome.webp

I can't confirm, but I thought there was a difference in bolt length needed for the center bolt of the clutch holder as well. The g320 has all its own bits that arnt interchangeable with the Cy clutch if memory serves, there was something goofy like bolt size or how the washers stacked. Can't remember off the top of my head.

yeah the clutch parts are not all standard, just close to each other in dimensions to really mess with you lol. you got to figure out the problem and buy/modify the parts. if it looks like shortening the bolt will do it, you're probably right. that seems pretty simple. just make sure you have enough threads into the crankshaft to torque it properly and not strip it. remember to clean all threads, use red loctite on the bolts, and torque everything properly

oh ok just saw you said it will contact the housing and this looks to be the case according to his last pic, seems you were right :)
