*First of all just to be clear, when I say "idiot", I am referring to myself!*

This forum and others like it helped me in a lot of ways to make my purchase in large scale R/C. All the information I got was/is very helpful and I read a lot of useful information. But all the information provided, all the knowledge by posters of things they have already experienced and shared with others makes me wonder WHY this Idiot did not listen to one of the most important safety issues. DO NOT RUN WITHOUT A KILL SWITCH! I spent $33 on a alloy steering tray, $140. for two strong steering servo's, $160.00 for a cool pipe, and $50. for some cool looking paint. Now I knew what everyone said about kill switches, but why didn't the idiot listen? I guess some people need to learn the hard way! I'm usually not a "cheap" person and I don't know why I skimped on this. No people were hurt but the idiot looked like a fool. When it happened the throttle/brake servo went at wide open throttle but steering was working. I shut off the radio so it would just run in circles hoping it would just flip but that darn Nutech TBIII with monster tires just wouldn't flip. Then the idiot tried to tackle it! Yeah, it was a panic decision, and didn't work. I was so afraid of the exhaust, I half ass'ed jumped on it which in turn I bumped the wheels straight and away she went!!! Across the park, under a fence, across the ball field, and into another fence which flipped it and I could kill it. After gathering it up and walking home, my wife said "did you break it again"? I told her the story and she called me an "IDIOT"... That's my new name!

DO NOT RUN WITHOUT A KILL SWITCH!!!!!

Ok Mr Idiot, join the club :lol: Most of us have had a runaway pre-kill switch, me included, and know what its like. What a frightening experience! The price of the kill switch is more than covered in repairing the damage from 1 runaway which is why it is stressed as being so important. Running on a track is different as its a controlled environment but bashing on a park or field you can come into contact with kids, parents, dogs etc which could turn very nasty if the worst was to happen.

Tell your wife most of us have been idiots! Crack a beer and chill out now, lesson learned..........the hard way :lol:

+1 to that mate my runaway wasnt a great day i had mine go flat out across a field between a tree and 2 posts across a gravel road and hit my mates vaxhaul in the sill lifting his car up a good 4inchs and smashing the sill in and resulted in it going through his insurance plus my day old carbon marder shell that i had talked my wife into letting me have before my birthday was smashed and the marder wasnt in the best shape either cost me @£4-500 quid to sort it out plus my mates insurance xs,,,so your not alone mate
