I would have to say the best diff protection I have found is to be upgrading the diff sleeve to stainless and using the silicone mod found below.
If something gets in it can't get out and will chew through the aluminum sleeve. Ouch!

One problem with that cover mate> The diff turns anti-clockwise ,that means the poop is coming in from the front! So you really don't need protection from the rear(unless your in jail in the showers ).
