How long has your differential lasted?

FG dif in semi has been there forever. was used when I got it. wore out the casing to the point it wouldn't hold grease anymore (flung all over the inside of the body). put an alloy dif case and ran all year...

Firehammer... brand new dif case, sleeve and gears lasted about 15 mins when I landed a jump on full throttle. snapped the dif housing

I raced 8th scale buggy for many many years and I can't remember ever blowing a dif.

thunder tiger ek4 and difs, well that 70 like to eat crown and pinions so had to be shimmed tight

redcat mt I never heat treated my dif outdrives and I blew a dif about every 20 mins of driving

basically, landing a jump with any 5th scale with throttle at full is bad. these things are heavy. saying mfg doesn't matter isn't right because we all know from experience most of the "clones" don't have the quality of plastic parts the originals do. the pioneers of each of these models have done mods or tips to address the problems before running them. this info you can find by doing research here before buying the model.

I feel your pain blowing a dif, it happens. but the supporting arguments this seller is tossing out is garbage unless all he runs is clone rc's. I run a set of 8th scale buggy tires all year usually, except maybe hard packed clay. the little fuzzies do wear off super fast because it's almost like driving on concrete. I went with a little different tire for our clay track because they last. holeshots worked awesome but I am not going to buy a new set of tires every second race.

slawhammer good luck with 98. 92 is the record i beleive but that was on 6s- foam tires and geared way up. if it were a buggy thats different but the e-revo is heavy 65 is the fastest id gear for. 50 is ideal especially on 4s

the business I bought it from keeps insisting he isn't required to give any form of warranty, and therefore it isn't his responsibility to fix it.

unfortunately for him, there is a statutory warranty, which he can't get around, and it makes him completely obligated to repair an item like this that has failed after 2 hours of normal use.

as a result, I will be contacting the ACCC, and consumer affairs.

his business changed names a year or two ago, when under its old name, he didn't honour warranties, and got an extremely bad reputation.

apparently he's aiming for the same thing again?
