I think this new motor is going to be a big hit. Now if they could just add an alternator of some sort to eliminate the receiver pack that would be awesome.

It will be interesting to see what kind of power they are making with it. Personally I think it will disappoint alot of nitro guys. But I hope hpi proves me wrong. I have a few savages I wouldnt mind trying one in.

I would drop this into my Savage X in a heart beat. I do not like nitro at all and now my savage is just collecting dust. don't get me wrong it was a blast but nitro engines are to much work. If my Savage had a gas engine I would revive mine.

I would take a loss in power over having to deal with nitro. For all we know though, these could make the same power as nitro.
yes, being a larger displacement they may. I don't mind the extra tuning with nitro myself, but if these come close in performance then i would be all over it for sure, lol. just the money savings for fuel would be worth it. will be exciting to see the results.

nitro is MUCH faster then petrol no question about it.

However, i would like to see this engine being run on alcholes/methonols (but then stepping back into nitro arena?)

the only benifit i can see to this petrol engine will be the reliablity and run times of it? or will it? might be just as unreliable as nitros with the added hassle of spark plug timing, who knows :p . (be nice to not have to worry about glow plugs and starters tho :) )

i know the fuel will last longer BUT i cant see it being much cheaper then nitro fuel in all honesty (in the UK atleast) fuel is £1.34 per litre (about $2.10 pl) then a high quality 2stoke oil is about £16 and on top of that you car is gonna be more reliable and your gonna use it alot more lol :D (its always the pull start that causes problems for me,wheres my rotostart?)

i got 3 fully working savages and i love them all to bits(use them more then my MT), and will deffo be getting one of these engines to build up a 4th, but i know its not gonna accelerate any faster, and top end is prob aroud the same as nitros if a little slower

but still, cant wait! :)

i could be very very wrong(and i hope i am as it will be nice to have summin new to the small scale scene) soz for picking holes n being negative ^.^

Cost of fuel to run will be significantly cheaper than nitro, without a doubt.

Also, the displacement of this motor alone will help make up for the loss in compression and type of fuel compared with nitro. It's sort of unfair, at this point, to say that it'll be slower. We simply don't know.
