Ok here's how I did mine. It's not the best looking solution but it does work. You do need some silicone tubing like what I used to take up the gap between the stingers so that you can tie em together with hose clamps.

Just butt the hose clamps together and run a zip tie through holes you drilled.

If you do this on the bottom it looks clean enough from the top

My buddy uses the thread grooves to lock em together. This works well too.

I picked them up at Canadian Tire, and to keep them on i drilled a small hole in the bottom and put a set screw in them. Never had any problems with them. I tried to solder them with no sucess.

Drill a small hole in the end of each and Safety Wire them together with them both being right hand thread they will not be able to fight each other loose.
old airplane trick.... it sucks when you lose hardware mid flight:eek:

I had one of the original X-can's those were held in place with hi-temp orings, never had issues with them coming out or off. Red loctite may work but the mating parts HAS to be clean and free of any oils or residue, brake cleaner, a wire brush to clean the threaded parts followed by a good soap wash, rinse and air dry, assemble and let dry for a day. I've also seen an x-can where the guy threaded the pipes all the way through and used lockwashers and a nut to secure them.

Sprint, A&P the supermarket or Airframes and Powerplants? Now reflect on how many pop-rivets you've drilled out.

And Kryp....you're no spring chicken either !!!
