At wits end. Maybe I’m missing something

34cc obr reed engine from 2014 in my Baja 5T. Been sitting since 2015.

I couldn’t get it to start with the 990 that it came with so I bought an Amazon special 668 walbro for $15

It started right up. No isssues. Tuned it and bashed away.

Come to realize they make a 1107 now. Which wasn’t Out back in 2014

It’s to my knowledge, 1107 is made for a 32 cc engine so naturally I bought it brand new from DDM.

The only thing I did to it was remove the throttle flap to install the DGI 20% stiffer return spring. Assembled everything back and installed the carb.

It’s currently on H 1.75 turns and L 1 1/8 turns.

It starts no issue but at idle it runs at maybe half throttle. I can hold the brake slightly and it idles fine for a few seconds but will bog down and cut off.

It will not idle with these settings.

What gives?!?

Any ideas and help is appreciated.

Also idle screw is turned in just touching the throttle lever to move it every so slightly open.

Get rid of that Amazon special and get the genuine Walbto 1107 from ddm, Taylor RC or Detroit Performance. Only a genuine one.

The Amazon special worked better than the 990 lol

But I figured out the issue. Apparently the linkage was set wrong.

I guess going from the walbro 990 to the Amazon special 668 was fine but wen I added the walbro 1107 it was slightly off because wen I took off the linkage and started it, it staarted and ran ok. Adjusted the idle speed and it ran crisp. I guess for some odd reason the linkage was slightly opening the carb from wen I added the 1107.

It’s all good now.
