i think maybe going 4wd will be the easiest way to convert it back and justify my change of opinion. My biggest issue with the truck is body and tire options just haven't found anything i like

are you able to keep the double shock set up, might be a good idea as they are not the best out there. you will obviously need the front section of the roll cage, plastic side pods, the front shock tower is different but i guess you get the other one with the 4wd kit. as for wheels you say you like the buggy version ,if you cant find any fg baja wheels or marder wheels then the older mcd wheels fit upto the rr v3 and smartech, xtm, carson wheels fit also.I like the stepstuds tyres better then the fg nobblies but they seem a little too grippy at times and thats not good for the 'grip roll' , also there are 3rd party bodys too,ill see if i can dig some up.
I guess you prefer the buggy better, you say its lighter and more nimble, even loosing those big mt5 wheels and using the fg marder/baja wheels frees up performance killed by the weight of those things.
good luck with the conversion

Thanks for replying to my post. I'm definitely going for weight reduction and speed. I already sold of the beetle body and wheels the next to go will be my jet pro v1. I have my eye on a victory silenced pipe to replace it looking for something quieter.

sounds like youre pumping some cash into that build!! i have the jetpro v1 pipe and its an absolute screamer, it almost makes my piston port engine sound like a reed case(ish) lol. you will get plenty of extra rpm's with this pipe ,its great on my
2wd fg but on your 4wd it isnt the best, not the torquiest pipe as it a high ender .. the victory is a great pipe, this will probably suit your buggy better as they have a good bottom end all the way through.Victory seem to be doing alot in the rc pipe scene at the moment, they cater for cy engines, zenoah, ported engines and bigbore so they have a pipe to suit and get the most out of any engine you have , i don't see any other companies doing this at the moment, its great for our hobby . if you have a stock engine you want to look at the vrc(victory) and if you have a tuned engine the 'pro' or 'bigbore', the pro has good torque but great rpms, the bb has great torque and o.k rpms.

i think a samba or dominator torque pipe would be good too for your application.
im sure others will chime in a give their views on pipes they have too so don't make any rash desicions..good luck and happy hunting
