As many of you know, I picked up a Cy GP290 for my MT from DDM. Did you guys know, the stock CY clutch housing is not compatible with the FG motor mounts? It's NOT! Right now I have the motor in all jacked up and it is kicking the piss out of my gears and bearings so I need to replace the housing.
After dealing with DDM's website (which I hate, but I like his prices) I couldn't find the correct housing... Or any information on what one I Could use.
So, I took a trip over to bigboys toys n hobbies (their site sucks too) but I found online FG manuals With part numbers!! Every single engine they list for sale says "Must use pt#8345 to be used in fg" Guess what the number stands for? Yup the correct clutch case number. (It would be nice if DDM did this too)
So, I go back over to Dave's and type in the search box "8345 clutch case" and I get about 356,289 different fricken items!!! Let's see... There were about 15 different baja 5t's!!! (what the hell does that have to do with the search??!) 6000 different motor combos and every other damn thing you could think of!! I hate that damn site!!!
Sorry about the female dog fest! It just gets annoying after awhile...
So, after another 1/2 hour of playing with the search box I finally came up with this.. http://www.davesmotors.com/s.nl?c=885035&sc=12&category=&search=08345
Here is what I found at big boys.. http://www.bigboystoysandhobbies.com/inc/sdetail/7770
OK, can anybody tell me what the difference is between the $27. and the $11.???
I also want to get a higher/stiffer clutch spring, should I get the 8000rpm baja spring? For some reason it comes with 2 springs in a package? I only need one.. lol Or does someone have a better suggestion? I don't want to blow the drivetrain out of my truck.
Thanks,
Trip..
