Man I just cant seem to get a tank of gas through my new FG. First time out I flipped it and broke the wing mount, s--t happens-no big deal, didnt even finish a full tank. Second time out, clutch lining came off the shoe, well- it'll be alright I thought, just epoxy em back on and we're golden, no- not for this dog, got her out for third times a charm and both clutch linings came off!! So, back to the bench, I had bought a clutch for an extra to put in the toolbox, it was an HPI clutch, guess what? It doesn't work, the bolt holes are different sizes. So I got another clutch, filled it up again, took it out, made four or five passes, got balzzee, overshot the ditch and smoked a culvert pipe taking out the lower front wishbone, bending some screws, folding the roll bars, it just keeps on getting better. Come to find out, the wishbone I need isnt even in the country unless your talking about it beeing in a new kit. I even called a shop in Canada trying to get a nylon replacement for now, untill I get the replacement alloy from across the pond. They didnt have anything either. We put a few hours in beating on it yesterday (the A arm) and finally got it beat back into a shape resembling the A arm. I got it back on the car, everything lined up, bolted back up ok, measured out to be an 1/8'' out when squaring up the chassis/measurements. It tracks down the road good, hardly even noticeable, then,......... I roasted another "high quality" $20 clutch. STill have not put a full tank of gas through it..............
Maybe tomorrow I'll back my CHEVY over it, see how that goes.............
