Very cool. I thought he had some bigger options too but could be wrong. I messaged with him a few yrs ago about a sand drag build. I thought this one he sent me a pick of was a 1/4 scale or close.

yeh roof chopper (dennis) was always making various different cages, his website has disapeared now, but on there he had a few bits n bobs he was making, plus the sand rails that were his main sellers, he used baja or fg running gear/parts for everything he built though (y),
and the drag rail you pictured was probably 1/4 scale (y), he also had a dakar truck he was playing around with and various different sand rails,

I very much regret not buying that one in pic. Just couldn't afford the twin I wanted for it and lost interest. That thing has to be heavy but also needs to be fast ;)

I would Love roof chopper to come back. Them cages were badass.

I think he was an older dude but yeah I hope he's got enough spunk left in him to come back too! Perfect rig for a big bore!

Roof chopper did a long wheel base version. Not sure if it was quarter scale but it was longer then a standard baja. poopy pic but you get the idea

Recently where was a roof chopper cage for sale in the UK, sold for like $800 ?
yeh going off yer pic z , the one i have is the shorty like on the left, then the middle one is stock baja length, then the one on the right is slightly longer,
all use baja running gear, only the shorty needs the fg tank to fit in the frame,
and yeh his prices are all either for an un welded (diy) cage or a finished fully welded cage powder coated in the colour of your choice,

mine in its current build state, changed a lot of stuff to carbon fibre etc ,

and in its previous build state with more alloy, after a bash though, dirty girl :ROFLMAO:,

weight wise the rail cage weighs around 3 - 3.5kg on its own, so they aint heavy really, all 10mm 1mm thick wall steel tube,
made in two sections, main part then a bolt on rear for shock towers etc, so ya have some acces to wrench on em (y)

One more reason I couldn't one a 1/4, way to damn heavy. I'm short as feck and not that strong , so lifting something that big and heavy wouldn't work. And I'd die going down the steep ass stairs to the basement ?‍♂️?

it weighs 14.4kg in its current stae z, so thats around 32lbs i think,
thats with rx battery and fuel,
there stable as feck an all, really hard to roll em, (y) ,
i have rolled mine though :ROFLMAO:

Monster just get yourself a fg on road already
Warm weather is coming...

Gonna just run the Marder on-road with you guys. Will scoop up tires in May sometime.
Not bad. A Baja with a tc cage and ally upgrades weighs about the same.

I thought so too. Def an excellent option if they were available today. The way they stick to the ground I wanna see one with a big bore!

yeh roughly the same as a caged baja z (y) ,
took me years to get my rail cage, i'm the 5th owner and was after it for around 3 years off the previous owner,
he finally gave in and sold it to me , was a tad bent from a big crash but straightened it out and built from scratch,
how it was when i bought it :ROFLMAO:,
