they do have a charge, but like anything your better off charging from the start, and avoid any issues that could arise out of a weak battery

oh yeah get your self a decent charger and some batteries for the controller so you can charge everything , something like a dynomite phrophet charger

Yes get yourself a better charger and rechargeable for the radio as well. I use this charger http://www.nitrorcx.com/75p-t6-multi-charger.html so you can charge everything at once in much less time. Also if you buy rechargeable batteries for your radio this charger also comes with a plug to plug into the radio and charge the batteries without having to take the batteries out of the radio. Also one other tip buying this battery https://www.redcatracingshop.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=1506 will make your servos faster!!!! I know that a 5000mah battery is just supposed to give you longer run time not more power but it is something about the venom batteries they discharge different I think but I have tried it against 3 other 5000mah batteries and these diffidently make your servos react and move faster.

thats hould work just fine, you have the option of lipo's with that charger so thats always a plus if you decide to upgrade

i have the 4600mah batt from DDM and i use a prophet charger on it, it chargesd several other things around my place, my rock crawler batt, my lightsaber batt. i replaced stock radio system with a 4pks and upgraded to the LiFe 1900 mah batt, and had to get a LiFe charger for that. yes the larger the mah of a batt pack the longer they will runtime they have.

Bumping a thread here. In regards to the Thunder T6 charger mentioned... What are the minimum power requirements in AMPS, I saw in a picture that 11V to 15V is the voltage, but what about AMPS? I have an older PSU that does 13.8V and 12Amps.

pic of the charger i use

Thanks, I am still deciding on a charger, so any input is welcome. I have a PS that does 12V (measured14.4) and 12Watts (measured under load); is it enough? Another concern is the ability to charge three batteries (minimum) since I have 3 trucks (1 all electric 10th, and 2 5th scales), but in deciding, I need to understand if my current PS is sufficient for a charger, charging 3 NiCad (perhaps Lipo/Life in the future) or do I just bight the bullet and get a PS along with a charger. The equipment I have currently I know nothing about since it was all given to me, and it looks relatively old (not that it's a bad thing) . I just can't find any info about it on the inter-webs and I already de-soldered (by letting it get way to hot) a 7 cell Nicad battery with this charger already. So I have zero faith in this thing as it is, and two of the users of this future charger will be a 8 and 10 year old. SO I want something easy but still good for the life span of the batteries.

the prophet only charges one pack at a time, runs off either house or a car battery 12V. has i think 3 different amp rates for charging. thats bout all i can tell ya on it. i assume your wanting to charge made up or store bought batt packs, right? my 1/10 rock crawler has a beefy big batt pack and this charger does the job easily. it does a loud beeping when its charged, willnot overcharge either. from the sounds of the batt packs your talking bout, this charger shood work perfectly.
