No that is not normal and the epoxy plug should never move. I'd contact Mike about that and I'd advise not to run the engine until that's fixed.

@cmbscx10 the epoxy plug is for the use of a reed case. The reed engines use a modified piston port cylinder with the intake plugged. The reason the intake is plugged is because the intake port is now moved to the engine case. Also there's a 1 or 2 transfer ports machined into the cylinder to benefit from the reed engine.

Awesome. Incredible info and I get it now.

Being Epoxy I doubt it is a machined part so likely the head will have to be shipped so the MFG can put another plug with better heat retention in it.

Very Kool and great service. Any indication of a bad batch or 1-1,000,000?
To be fair not too sure? but he just said straight off the bat what i posted here, no questions asked!?

But he did send a follow up email to ask if i minded having a silver head instead of the black one which was my original, heres his email:

"Can i ask a favour please mate, would you accept a silver (non-painted) cylinder?

I really really want to try it on yours for cooling, naturally the paint acts as a barrier and also smooths out the rough surface which slows coolin"

Its not what i really wanted as I did like the black one which was why i chose it originally, but it works both ways & hes sorting the issue out with speedy response, so i don't mind! Head arrived today & all back together... except for an issue I had before! ....made another post about it!
