Hitec Steering and Throttle/Brake Servo's
Aluminium Diff Casing
Baja 5T top roll handle
GPM Rear alloy shock strut mounts
8000rpm clutch spring
Hostile 19/55 gear set
Walbro 813 Carb
GPM Front Alloy Set (alloy hubs, steering servo set, front wishbone assembly)
Killer Bee V.2

Items on the way soon:
Rear alloy hubs :D
And when (or if) the gearbox casing dies, an alloy case will be ordered.

whne i was doing some upgreades on mine i went with quik split tranny alloy case.

will make future diff servicing easy, no more ripping half the backend off to get tranny out, cuz now you don't remove tranny, just rear bulkhead and a few bars and such, then endcap bolts and yank the diff out of tranny case.

t2boats, i have followed your progress with your clone baja, everything looks nice and i hope it goes well for you. But But  you have left out a very important part of the build, when that baja was made in china or which ever country, the whole baja was made for a 23cc this i know because i did 2 of these convertions my self, you will now need either a king motor chassis or a hpi chassis and a hpi SS diff, the 23 diff will not take the power for long, so although you have bought the baja im sorry to say you bought the wrong one and i don't mean to put a downer on it, if you can get the diff with the outer ss casing and the hubs all round, the chassis will break at the front as soon as you put power into the baja, hope you have fun ted.

hi ted,

the normal diff ran fine with the zenoah 29cc, no bother at all. i just wanted to upgrade to an alloy diff casing for a bit more security as i use it on an off road track, so i bought all the bits and fitted it (an SS diff i mean), and as for strength of the chassis - it's standing up to some serious punishment!.... not heard of any "clone" chassis' breaking before though.

don't think its gonna matter, cause u can do a 23 to 29 bore upgrade with out changing nuttin but the top end and crank, same chassis , so if it will then do 29cc power a 29cc engine should be same result.

should run just fine, but definately will require the alloy upgrades for drivetrain, as in tranny and diff in alloy, and if it has plastic/nylon spur and pinions, they will have to be metal to handle the extra power too.

i think some if not all the 23cc versions may be the nylon spur and pinion, don't quote me on that, im not positive. but i bet if they are and you slap a 29cc on there the spur and pinions will strip in no time.

it came with a plastic spur and metal pinion, no problems running them with the 29cc, i fitted the longer gears as the 29cc has buckets of more torque than the 23cc so it can still accelerate quickly with the 19/55 fitted (fair to say it's deffo quicker than before though). the lap times have drastically improved on the track too :)

Hostiles are supposed to be very strong plastic spurs with a metal pinion. That's what I got. I just received my ONB 29.5cc full mod last night :D. Lan-Ed-Tul, btw, you can go right up to a 30.5cc with head and crank! Although not recommended what I can see to go larger than 28.5cc with a 2 bolt head.

I only went 28.5 myself as I did not want to be swapping cranks before I even started it.

I fitted hostile gears a while back. They feel totally different to the normal plastics youd get as standard. Been in this game too long to not know about gears stripping lol..

hiya, i fitted the same pipe as what's on the baja 5B SS, i think there's a pic of it somewhere on this thread..? i already bought the pipe in prep for when the buggy arrived. it suits the 29cc anyway, accelerates very well right through the rev range, seems very eager and more responsive. and it's a very neat fit under the wing too. top end is plenty, even more so that i've fitted higher gearing.

yep, try out this item number on ebay: 330547379651

they're a nice pipe and certainly improve things over a stock box exhaust. or just search for "hpi baja 5b tuned pipe", something's bound to pop up, alternative pipes too :)

yeah the one i bought had HPI on the label, but i've also seen identical pipes (i mean the whole kit, manifold, clamp etc) in other packets which can be bought, so i ain't got a clue who makes them. you're right though, they sound good and certainly improve things in the performance dept!
