iv just got flywheeloff

well i had my baja runing in the garder after fitting the new head gasket, i turned the baja 29cc of and about 10 mins later i tried to start it it would sound like it was starting the shuder and stop then i noticed mettle chipings so i took the fly wheel of about 10 mins ago and this is what i found can some one tell me what i need to buy and how this could happen and it carnt be a stone because it was in my garded and its only grass heres some picturs

chances are mate it was damaged before (fractured) & today when you jus started in ya backgarden was just enuff to crack it :s

just wached the vids do i have to do a ful strip downt to get the crank out ?? do i need any spetial tools and is it hard ?

Mike,the bottom end is fooked! You need new bearings ,crank,woodruff key ,fly wheel.Check the coil hasn't been damaged and remove the clutch to see if there are any fractures behind it near the bearings.
It might be easier to buy a new mill.

As Daz said,its probably a manufacturing fault,it might have been there from day one.If not the woodruff key has been badly fitted or was just plain weak and shattered/bent.

iv just worked it out wth km parts it should come to about 60 including burins but were do i get the wodruf cey thing from ? carnt find it on rcmodlez

Take the bottom end off that or take your bits off and run a 23cc,they rev higher and are quicker off the mark.
You'll get the key from DDM or UK supplier MMR or Abbotts(he breaks Bajas)

hi michael, if its damaged like that its best to renew the bearings just in case because the bearings might be damaged and could possibly damage the new stuff.
i had probs when i upgraded to a big bore 29cc 40 mins in it lean seized on number 2 big bore kit 15min in and a lean seize now have gone back to the 26 with no probs.

You've had some bad luck with your KM bud. Would it be worth changing the engine to a Zen or CY that parts are more widely available for? There were some cheap 1's on ebay a while ago
