Patiently awaiting my engine and a new copper exhaust gasket……
Apparently the engine wasn’t tuned is what I’m told, that’s funny because it would run pretty dang well until it just didn’t all of the sudden.
I’m new so hey, what do I know? I have been practicing my tuning on my weed whacker, using amsoil saber. The thing runs like a raped ape and seems to love the mix. I kinda want to put a nice pipe on it just because ima 🌰 like that.
 
Well I’m done f’n around with the 30degree engine, im just going to send it back and buy a legitimate engine.
“Just needed to be tuned”. Lame. Doesn’t even start so I don’t know what direction to turn the jets.
Well I can tell it’s flooded.
This amount of leakage would be impossible to tune?

I picked up some yamabond and tore down the engine. It’s all back together now and I’ll just wait until everything cures. I will give this one more f***ing shot until I throw in the towel.
I may have flooded it on the “tuned” carburetor that I received.

How much to ship that engine to Michigan if it still won't run? Lol
 
Well the good news is that the yamabond appears to have done its job.
The bad news is that it still doesn’t start! The pop from the soft pulls on choke is about the closest it gets. It’s not flooding this time. Spark tests out by jumping a huge gap on the tester.
I guess it’s time to cobble together a leak down testing apparatus. This is a lot of troubleshooting for a brand new engine. Someone had mentioned to me that the seal at the clutch is a notorious leaker.

It looks like it costs $250 to ship up to Michigan

Lol. I'll pass. Bummer the pos won't run. Very frustrating.
 
I put 6psi into it about an hour ago, hasn’t leaked. Maybe I’ll bump up the pressure.
I do not have it submerged, I was using some micro bubble leak check. Makes sense why it would be submerged
