Thats been a very serious topic of debate. Having had both, a KM and an HPI SS there were some differences in them that would leave me to believe they have seperate manufacturing facilities. Considering I come from a plastic injection molding company and am familiar with the different tolerances needed in aspect to mold temperatures and compositions. I would be willing to bet they are manfactured in different places, using different molds. Bear in mind this is my opinion and is purely an educated guess.

Rossco, is this just your opinion, or do you have some facts to support your statement? You might well be right, but you seem so definite about it...

Here is a simple FACT.....

The quality of HPI is second to none...

The parts from both HPI and the clones may be interchangeable..but are NOT identical......the materials HPI use are also far superior to that of the clones and are way stronger...not to mention the higher quality finish...

So...I highly doubt they are made in the same factory by the same people using the same equipment...

I am in no way one of these HPI die hard types...but the differences are smack in the face obvious....

I have had nearly all of the plastic parts from HPI, KM and Rovan...and HPI is by far the best...

NOT just my opinion..

well what about the alloy km then the fella in rc modlez said that the 23cc ksrc001 is the hpi clone and the 29cc ksrc002 is the baja ss kit but thay said that thay have made a better on than the hpi the km ksrc2.0 and the ksrc3.0 is this true ?

The clones are all followers and thieves. No clone anything will be better than the HPI original. The aluminum versions are clones of show cars foiund at RCX or other big shows. They even copy the paint schemes from TGN.

ye but mine seems to hold up like the hpis and whos saying hpi is not the clone all the stuf that the hpi dos mine has done the only problims is the radio gear

he would say that mate he,s trying to sell them, the main problem with rtr clones is how there put together, loose bolts missing gaskets etc,, king motor are bringing out a kit version of the 3.0 which is the best idea to avoid poor build quality build it your self and then you,ve only your self to blame.

At the end of the day a clone is a clone.'Ya pays ya money,ya takes ya chance!'

iv just noticed my km came with dirt buster on and so dose the hpi could this meen thaat they are made in the same factory or have they both got dirt busters?

I have heavily run my km 002's with no assembly issues except the motor sudked the crank case gasket in but that could happen in any brand motor, not as likely in the zenoh but they are a class by them selfs so I would say the 002's are of better quality then the first model even as far as the plastics are concerned, it three months of heavy usage the only issue I have run into is the rear shock support brace needs to be replaced with the hpi one due to the 002's only used a single bolt to the shock towere and it pulled the threaded knurl out of the support which hpi does not have at all in theres. The only parts I have broken has been two rear bearing carriers and 1 front arm and they come with a pack of replacement parts with them.

Just drill a hole in the top shock support and bolt it from the back. Thats what I had to do with the HPI and have also done on the KM.
