Thanks to Super654 for recording this on his mobile when we were out on Sunday, 2-speed is broken so running on a taller first gear...yes the pin came out :clown:, and the one-way roller fell apart! But in it's defence the truck had already done about an hours worth of jumping and cartwheels before we moved to the flat grass area... ha ha :D

Brad (Super654) is now sporting a nice healthy bruise after stopping my FG at the end...cheers dude!

WOW!!

lol that is one crazy video, haha brad must have felt that i would think.

ducky that is one serious quick mt,some nice wheelies there too, good to see you finally got it out for a run.

AWESOME ducky....

I'm impressed it was still running at that point DC, had done so many cartwheels earlier when jumping I'm surprised it was still going. lol It's actually slower than normal as I have the 50t diff gear and without second gear it's slower than stock gearing. :)

man that thing is awesome fast,it is light you see too which also helps matters.

going very well though isnt it,nasty tumble alright but thats expected sometimes, thats why i like the weight of alloy i hardly ever roll now actually never,it is so stable, but heavy.

man that is just serious quick, fastest i have seen in a long time, that zen and pipe combo and two speed you run is a good match.....

well obviously was even good there without two speed.

Im sure that was your aim all along Ducky, to take me down, it was close a few times...lol...
Might have to post a pic of the bruse...to make you feel guilty..lol...Ill get you back......:laugh::laugh:

I thought you were gonna smack the pole too!! What motor, pipe and gear numbers are you running? It's been so long I can't remember. I like how yours is a lot more controllable out of the hole than mine is, I have the stock 16/48 and all it does is wheelies for the first 30-50 feet and I have top end.

Thanks,
Trip..

It's a stock 26cc Zen
Dominator top-end pipe with silencer
14t lay shaft
50t differential
48t first gear
16t pinion

Second gear was broken in that video, the bottom end could be crisper but the current throttle linkage stops me adjusting it, going to redo the linkage so I can adjust it better.

It's probably more controllable as the suspension is fairly soft so resists wheeling as easily as a stock truck does. :)

P.S Brad...revenge is a dish best served cold...lol

I am thinking about switching the layshaft gear from a 14 to a 17tooth... I have a GP290 and a Jetpro silenced and I am running out of gear really quickly (no rpm's from the 28.5) Any idea (Anyone) if I could spin that much gear? Stock gear is 10.29 and with a 17 it will be 8.47

Thanks,
Trip..

Oh OK, I am going to look up your gear ratio in the chart, to see how much different it is from mine...

Thanks Duck...

My 1st gear ratio should in fact cause the truck to wheelie more, but my combination of rich bottom end and soft suspension stop it from doing so. :)

Trip, I would look at going to say the Marder gearing or even lower perhaps to make use of your engine torque.

Say 46/18 or 44/16.

I don't know if I can spin this gear or not, but I have to do something, this thing just will not rev anything like the stock Zen did...

It's a big gear ratio change, can I do it? Stock gear is 10.29 with a 14 tooth L/S gear...
With a 17 tooth it will be 8.47!!
I figure it is just one gear, if I can't spin it, I can try another size.

Trip..

I'm still amazed that it doesn't want to rev up so bad...would love to see a vid of it at some time? Case of trial and error really dude.

I am on my second gallon of fuel so I would imagine it has loosened up by now. It revs pretty quickly but it just plains out and won't rev any higher. I know the carb is just a tick on the rich side because the plug is a little dark, but the throttle response is decent. One thing I find kind of strange is, I can't see a difference in performance from 3/4 throttle to full throttle. There is no change in sound at all. Yes the carb is opening correctly. I don't know of anyone else that has this motor, so I don't know if it is just the characteristics of the motor...

Trip..

I wonder if it's worth changing the carb over for a model that flows a bit more, as the 3/4 to full throttle with no change sounds like the carb can't deliver any more mixture...?

Other people use the stock carbs on large bores with no problems though...still doesn't seem right as an additional 1/4 of air would make a difference regardless.

I would think so too, I have to wait until the snow melts so I can get a perfect tune. Maybe then I can get it to run properly.

Do you (or anyone) know what the stock gears are for the stadium truck?

I looked on DDM's site, (found nothing as always) but I cannot find a 17 tooth layshaft gear... Is the gear interchangeable with the pinion gear?
