What do you guys think of a neu 1524 1y on 8s. I don't wanna change the motor mount but i do wanna change the motor in my quest for more speed. Tell me what you think.

Before I changed over to a 7075 motor mount I ran a neu 1527 1.5d in my xbe, it was the best set up I have yet had, but it wont fit with a 7075 motor mount, bit of a bummer really, don't want to go back to the orginal mount, but as far a speed goes you wont find better, It had my xbe lifting the front of the ground at 40mph...... :D :D :D

I haven't found a motor that will do that and fit in the new motor yet:(

I was thinking the same thing . Something around 1580 kv with that long as motor should have no problems at 8s .

why won't it fit my motor mount?
Hi Doug,

I stand corrected, my neu 1527 does fit. I had to take the whole mount off and fit the motor and do the gear meshing adjustments on the bench and then put it back in the vehicle, pretty tight fit though. The neu is longer than a leopard or the turnigy motors I have had in there before, but it fits......just.

1500 kv is just where I want to be with the xbe . My rally is geared for

69 mph with the 780 kv and the xbe seems slow as sh*t with the 980 kv on 8s.

You won't be dissapointed with a neu 1527 in there, just watch your temps, these motors are amp hungry if your geared to high, if your running with a stock spur (41t) start out with a 10t or 11t pinion and work your way up from there......I'll post up results when I get my rig back up and running, on my 3rd cc XL2 ESC,going to run with a separate BEC,cap bank, geared 14/45. We will see if this set up lasts longer than a few runs before the esc go up in smoke again........

Might have out lay the big bucks for a mgm if castles xl2 can't hack the pace...

So 19/41 with the stock metal spur ?
19T:eek: thats a huge pinion, have you seen the size of it? The biggest I have run is a 16t and it was cazy fast, you wont be able to put the power down geared that tall, it will blow the tyres off their rims.....IMO;)

I have 21 t in my other truck, it doesn't blow the tires of the rims . Then again I use fg style tire so that has never been a problem .

WOW a 21t in what truck? what size spur? How does it handle?

The xbe's original tyres aren't the best on the market thats for sure,my first lot didn't even have foam inserts.....

A head lock gyro helps alot . If I hammer it I see the back end step out a bit then the gyro puts it back in-line. The 41 t spur I use is from the xbe. The only problem I have is braking. I was hoping to get some hydro brakes soon as brushless brakes are poop . the application is like on or off.

What brand/type esc are you using? The brushless brakes in my xbe (Castle XL2) are so good they just about lock all the wheels up, full braking range from 0 to 100% fully adjustable. I have just got myself a head lock gyro, will be trying it out this week.

Off Road the brakes are great ....onroads not so much . I could use a bit more wheel time to get used to braking distances. You will love the gyro, just make sure you use a bec. The gyro makes it work overtime . I believe it was the cause of my last escape fire.

I hear that, I reckon my last 2 fires where due to not running a separate bec, my neu 1527 took a dive yesterday, the rotor shaft started spinnning inside the rotor, it would appear that the glue that holds together let go, it started to cog really badly before it happened,a bit dissapointing really, back to the $70 turnigy motor now, it runs so smooth, think I'll be putting the 1527 back in the boat where it can be kept cool when comes back from the warranty repair. :(
