What do you guys think of a neu 1524 1y on 8s. I don't wanna change the motor mount but i do wanna change the motor in my quest for more speed. Tell me what you think.

Before I changed over to a 7075 motor mount I ran a neu 1527 1.5d in my xbe, it was the best set up I have yet had, but it wont fit with a 7075 motor mount, bit of a bummer really, don't want to go back to the orginal mount, but as far a speed goes you wont find better, It had my xbe lifting the front of the ground at 40mph......bigblkblazin said:What do you guys think of a neu 1524 1y on 8s. Hi Doug,Ol said:why won't it fit my motor mount?
whats the biggest pinion I can put on using your mount ?Ol said:why won't it fit my motor mount?
You won't be dissapointed with a neu 1527 in there, just watch your temps, these motors are amp hungry if your geared to high, if your running with a stock spur (41t) start out with a 10t or 11t pinion and work your way up from there......I'll post up results when I get my rig back up and running, on my 3rd cc XL2 ESC,going to run with a separate BEC,cap bank, geared 14/45. We will see if this set up lasts longer than a few runs before the esc go up in smoke again........bigblkblazin said:1500 kv is just where I want to be with the xbe . My rally is geared for 69 mph with the 780 kv and the xbe seems slow as sh*t with the 980 kv on 8s.
You can run a 16T on a 44T That should be tall enough for any set-upbigblkblazin said:whats the biggest pinion I can put on using your mount ?
19Tbigblkblazin said:So 19/41 with the stock metal spur ?
WOW a 21t in what truck? what size spur? How does it handle?bigblkblazin said:I have 21 t in my other truck, it doesn't blow the tires of the rims . Then again I use fg style tire so that has never been a problem .
What brand/type esc are you using? The brushless brakes in my xbe (Castle XL2) are so good they just about lock all the wheels up, full braking range from 0 to 100% fully adjustable. I have just got myself a head lock gyro, will be trying it out this week.bigblkblazin said:A head lock gyro helps alot . If I hammer it I see the back end step out a bit then the gyro puts it back in-line. The 41 t spur I use is from the xbe. The only problem I have is braking. I was hoping to get some hydro brakes soon as brushless brakes are poop . the application is like on or off.
