I have a few 2s lipos that I use in my mcd’s and Losi 5ive T’s. hate lipos. Can’t leave charged. Must put into storage charge. Life seems like a solution any one using it? I know they are only 6.6v. But that’s fine. Any input?

Ps. Love the Nimh batteries I have in all my hip’s. charge them before use and no worries.

I have a friend that has terrible luck with lipo's and yet I'm with Lance, I never storage charge my 2s reciever batteries ever I just charge and let them rip. I use an electron balance charger and it's been good. I do keep them in a metal container tho just to error on the side of caution.

i used to be scared of lipos for ages clubin, then started using em and as long you store em proper in a lipo bag or similar they're fine,
i also have never storage charged a lipo,
i also do use a life battery on my shorty sandrail, only cos of lack of room for a battery,
life batteries do work well and last well , i use a 1400mah and get an afternoon of bashing out of it at least,
but its not used on high voltage servos, 6 volt servos only,

I got tons of lipo batteries laying around between rc and flashlights. Never had one blow up, never storage charged one just never really had any issues. Well that's a lie I did have some issues with a few tenergy 1s soft packs for my micro heli, they swelled up a bit. Still worked fine, just didn't trust them though. They replaced them under warranty. Just discarged them then tossed them in a bucket of salt water to flat line them. Wanst a big deal really. Do the same to any of my big packs when it's time to retire them too.

I use life batteries on all my 1/5 very easy maintenance plenty of power for me since I only bash and they give plenty of run time. I'm like you when it come to lipo I'm sure lipo would be fine but I rather the peace of mind.
What brand are you using? Did a bit of a search and couldn’t locate any useful info.

I have many years of electric 1/10,1/8 and 1/5 under my belt. Charging/ discharging/ storage charging. Doesn’t scare me. It’s the chemistry of the battery that has such dangerous potential. I’ve never had a lipo problem. But I’ve always done what was “supposed” to be done to ensure safe use of a lipo. Can’t bring myself to bend or break the rules of a lipo.

Spectrum life battery

I like running Li-ion 18650 drill batteries in my 1/5 and nitros. Capacity, discharge, and voltage is comparable to lipo, they're more durable, and you don't have to worry about leaving them charged. Also FREE! because they're old repurposed cells.

However, I've also never had a problem with any of my lipos catching fire. So, while I show my lipos respect, I'm not that fearful of them.

I store my lipos inside cinder blocks , with concrete under it , never store them in unsafe conditions , I talked to dcrr guy , his friends house burned down from a lip fire while he wasn't home , you here that stuff , but it's always stupidity to blame ,lipo rules , I changed my rampage to lipo , completely different truck ! Nimh sucks , I m O , your sposed to storage charge if you have several , like I do can't let them sit and go below 3.3 , so I storage charge quite a bit for years

I found 2s and 3s life batteries at AMain Hobbies. I use a 3s 9.9v for better servo performance. 2200mah easily last for three or four sessions. I do not remove them from the buggy in between sessions, just leave them in the car.

yes life you can leave charged, that's why people (including me) use them for transmitters all the time. lipos will have a much shorter life and may swell if you leave them fully charged.

that capacity is way low. i'd want at least 3000mah, 4000's probably better. you might only get half an hour to 45 minutes runtime out of it. also that's a 3s battery, you'd probably fry your servos and possibly receiver. you want 2s :)
