I already have a Baja, so I want a 4wd largescale rc. After looking around the most peeps have recommended a MCD. My next question in for the owners of MCD. Which one do you recommend? Any pics to accompany choice would be nice.

I have the Race Runner, which i converted to a baja 1000

Here it is as the Race Runner:

Here it is as the Baja 1000:

I've been toying with the idea of selling it for a while.

I had a MCD monster truck then decided to turn it into the Baja 1000 then I turned it back into the monster truck, that was a great truck, sure do miss it.

Hi, Great Baja, I have a race runner and was also thinking of converting it to

a Baja, how easy is it to do ? It it only the shell, shell mounting and shocks ?

that need changing ?

Cheers

Yes, the body posts need changing. I have the the EVO 2 and it fits perfectly over the long travel shocks.

Chris

Ultimate kit has all the bells and whistles (all aluminum.. etc), and it has the price tag to match it.. LOL

The Evo 2 has a wider stance than the original Race Runners and longer travel shocks amongst other things.

The Evo 3 is based on the EVO 2 platform but they redesigned the front and back arms.

That is all i can think of off the top of my head.

MCD Baja 1000

Hello, not sure if iam in the right spot. However maybe who ever is reading this can help..Just purchased my first 1\5 Baja 1000 evo 1 i believe.Really cant find a whole lot of info on the evo1.And iam in need of parts..The guy i bought it from says the front diff is bad.So no front wheel drive. But it still drive crazy..Also have an Oniel bros racing engine.30.5 i believe is what he said..any way to verify???..So if it appears that iam lost you are correct..Any info greatly appreciated

I don't believe that MCD called it EVO until the EVO2, but that doesn't matter.
If you are looking for parts and are in the states, go to http://innovativehobby.com/ they are great. If you have any questions, you can shoot them an e-mail and they will respond rather quickly.

The CC of the engine should be stamped on the head just below the cooling fins. You might have to take off the plastic shroud. Also, they will not write 30.5cc they will most likely say 29cc. It's still a 30.5cc but I don't know why they don't stamp it like that.
You will have either a CY or a Zenoah engine. O'neil does is make it perform better, such as porting etc... I have never owned one of their motors so I don't know if they engrave them or not, some companies do that. Check under the plastic shroud and there might be some markings there.

Hope this helps

If you are guy who likes to jump, don't buy the MCD, they are heavy and don't like the big ramps. I never dared jump mine. The weight was unreal! Great truck though, i hope to have another someday.

I already have an HPI 5b to go jumping and bashing with.

I want a 4wd truck /buggy Truggy to go out with . There is alot of area's around where I live that I could drive that and have a great time.

How much do they weight, are you then forced to use a huge motor to get them moving? Who carries parts for them?

I'm sorry dude. stay away from it. Theyr'e heavy as hell. I have never taken mine out and ran afull tank with out breaking something , and by the way parts are expnsive too. I'll sell u mine, brand new chassis,2 bodies and a bunch of parts and gears plus a motor. If u really wanna enjoy a 4wd buggy that will eat bajas for lunch n dinner, get good jumps and don't break as much, then get u a
fg baja 4WD. I own 2 hpi and 3 fg baja 1 mcd rr and a Rampage TT. MCD i the least favorite. Not tryin to bash em but don't waste ur money. You'll be at the park drivin on egg shells and hopin u never flip, becuz u will break a part.

Say,thanks for all the info.Iam trying to figure out how to but not having a whole lot of luck

Mcd front diff

So Chris nice to talk to somebody with some expierence..So from some of what i read in some of the forums, the front diff out of a evo3 will sit in the Diff housing for an original MCD Baja,,no modds necessary..Whats your take???
