I'm not in a competition about who's right ;)

I just like to talk about my personal experience with MCD.
The only thing I try to say is that a HPI is not so low coust to maintain when you look at it over a long period of time.
All together I think the MCD will coust the same to keep it running as the 5T.
No need there to keep away from MCD.

But you're absolutely right, the parts are harder to get.
On the other hand, it depends on where you live.
Here in the south of Holland, MCD dealer MBS Racing is only a few miles from were I live.
Then there is Germany and England....they also have quite some MCD parts there.
 
one of my buddy get race runner v4 and it arrived last week , I went to the track with him for two times , I can't wait seeing how his v4 hold up.
he bashed his v4 hard, he jump over again that day . it still keep running.:w00t: i changed my mine . hopefully my v4 will arrived in two weeks times :cup-1:
 
Here's my MCD Evo4 work in progress. Just finished installing the aluminum servo adapters today on the plastic servo tray. Whew! Glad that's over. I have to thank my friend Don in making those aluminum pieces for me. :rolleyes: Some pix...;)

Having only just picked up the very latest V4 I hope to give you some feedback after a few runs. I will be getting the engine race ported and increased in size to 28.5cc which puts out 6 to 6.5 hp depending on what pipe you run and will be fitting an Elcon clutch. I have run the Baja SS (HPI Version) and apart from the CY 2 bolt 26cc which blew head gaskets frequently the other issues I had were with the shocks leaking and bending. Still love the car though.

Initial thoughts are the MCD is heavy in comparison maybe not as quick in a straight line but it's close but in the bends the SS does not get close. It's true you can feel the car better when driving the MCD and the steering is electric fast to react and it holds it's line no matter what speed you seem to turn in at. Oh and the standard brakes a very powerfull compared to Baja which seemed to slow gradually no matter how hard you applied them.
