DBXL 2.0 Loose gear?

Hello Guys,

Tried to search my problem but couldn’t find it. Apoligies if i didn’t look hard enough.

The problem.

When i rotate the wheels on my dbxl 2.0 manually i hear a sort of metal grinding sound and when i stop and do it again it is gone. Sometimes you hear it and sometimes you don’t. When the engine is on, ofcourse you can’t hear it. I checked and think it’s the gear. There is a large gear and then a small gear. The small one is a little bit loose. It can slide sideways. Is this the problem what causing the sound. If added a photo of the gear is talking about. Hopefully somebody knows what im talking about and knows what to do.

The screw at the end came loose. You need to remove the gas tank to get to it

Thanks for the quick response. Gonna check it out asap. First I thought the sound came from the brake. The metal plate is loose between the plates but its probably normal. It tightens up when you brake. Of you know what i mean

Keep after it, it doesn't take much to chew a hole in the fuel tank when the pinion gear comes loose.

The brake rotor is ment to float between the pads so it doesn't bind up

Thank you so much. Found it. Put some locktite on it also. Cant tighten to much because then the wheels are turning. Is that correct? Let me know

You can hold the gears from turning by using a flat blade screw driver and stick it in the gear mesh to lock up the gears so you can then tighten the screw. Also you can use a rag to jam up the gear set.

Thanks brother. Will remove the gastank tonight again and tighten the screw up a little bit more
