Hi. Can you help me identify which version is this? The black and white look familiar to the internet pictures, but it is not the exact pattern. ThanksIMG_20230624_191342.webp

Thanks. Good to know. Respect for the og. I bought it used and it came with a CY 29cc 4bolt (the 5ive orange and silver rtr engine), weird. Is there anything particular in the 2012 5ive that I should be aware of (and fix or upgrade) ?

Somebody probably blew up the 26cc that was in it and just opted for the v1.5 off the shelf engine, no big deal. Id go through the entire rig and check the bearings or replace them at this point. The bearings in mine were good and I just cleaned the old grease out and re greased them. Check to see if any of your hinge pins and king pins are worn, generally it will be the arms and hinge pin braces that wear and not necessarily the pins themselves. Take all of your cv's apart and clean them and get some graphite spray, I use it on my stuff and I don't have any dirt building up in the cv's. Get some new fuel line and a new clunk in the tank. Get a velocity stack and a dt-1 dome filter along with an outerwears for it off ddm. The air filter is by far the best and most needed thing you can do for it if you still have the stock filter assembly.

For an upgrade I'd ditch the stock center diff tower and brakes and go with the modified rc diff tower and rcr brakes for it. The steering ackerman on the v1-v1.5 wasn't the best and there's an upgrade for that. Get a good tuned pipe If it doesn't have one yet and that's about it for being modest. If you want to go further we can help you with that too lol.

Thanks for all those tips. It is tough to keep a 1/5 modest... Haha

Still I can t find pics of a 5ive with the complete black hood and white front wheel wells on the sides.

Tbh someone could have bought a clear body and painted it judging by the unevenness of the rear fenders, seems like the only explanation left 🤷‍♂️.. yea it is very hard to leave these rigs stock but if we couldn't mod them im sure it would get boring pretty fast lol.

The sides are not quite the same. It could be a clear body, but the finishing looks like the classic standard factory paint job for RCs
