Losi 5t issue

Hello everyone . A friend of mine has a losi 5t 2.0
and he’s having issues with the car accelerating on it own . He has to use the kill switch to stop it . If he puts it on the stand and start it . It start to accelerate on its own . If he puts it in the ground .. it stops , but if he gases it .. it takes off and won’t stop . We disconnected the throttle and brake servo with it being on the stand and the issue got worst. Im thinking it’s his carb . Has anyone had this problem . He’s running a Walbro 1107 carb .

Carb or maybe a vacuum leak.
Vac. leak will lean it out and RPM increase from going lean.

Air leak beyond the carb. Most likely the carb insulator as the stock ones are known to warp.

as above, air leak, or possibly a sticky linkage or broken/missing return spring for the throttle butterfly

Just sitting, Old fuel varnishes and really old fuel gets gooey. Your throttle plate may not close properly and the bushings on the throttle plate get "Sticky".

Just running it your carb will get the normal 2T ooze and that attracts dirt and dirt and fuel left to sit gets Tacky / Sticky.

I'd say pull the carb, spray it down with carb cleaner and NO compressed air. If the throttle is smooth to open and close afterwards, put a new gasket on it and fire it up.

Here in Commifornia old fuel turns into a cool green looking crystal sh*t that eats EVERYTHING.

What causes a sticky linkage ? Thanks for the info .

as @cmbscx10 said above fella, gummed up carb,
or a sticking/binding linkage holding the throttle open even when you're on the brakes,
i suggested the missing/broken spring cos you said it was worse when the servos were disconnected , so the servo aint pulling the throttle shut
