well i just won a losi micro desert truck of ebay.com its used looks like its in great condtion but has a dead battery and a faulty rx i have these parts left over from my brushless micro-t :-) so it looks like im going to make an all alloy micro dt instead of a micro t.

the micro dt works out around $72 aud shipped $40 aud is just for the international shipping im going to see if the seller will just send the truck as i have no need for the radio and quick charger as i have these left over from my micro t, it should make the shipping cheaper.

ill end up returning the microt t back to stock form for bashing and bling up the micro dt, this worked out well as ive been thinking about converting the micro -t to a dt for slightly better handling and you can use 7.2v 2s 300 mah lipo,s and 11.1v 3s 200 mah lipos in the desert truck as with the micro t you can only use the stock 150mah 4.8v nimh and the biggest battery you can use is the 7.4v 2s 180mah lipo and i need a faulty rx switch of a stock car for a mod i want to do.

even if the seller will not just ship the desert truck $70 bucks for a new looking faulty dersert truck isnt bad around half price, ive been bidding on them for ages but never won one, but now im not working ant not loaded with coin i win one lols.

it looks like i will need to buy a alloy dt shock tower and a stock micro t chassis to finsh an all alloy build and build the micro-t back into stock since i cut off the rx mounting lugs ont he micro-t to mount the 3 wire rx and brushless esc, and ill have just about enought parts left over to build a 3rd one lols.

Any prizes for 'nearest 5' ? !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Guess the number of donuts to the nearest 5, ... doesn't matter.
You're having fun, that's the main thing.

Next you need to get a Mini LST2, then insert LiPo and BL to that - I have a Novac Mongoose on my Mini Raminator - very fast.

Still can't touch the mini Revo on twin LiPo - that's plain stupid, before putting the twin NiMH in series - that's ridiculous !!
This is with a 'stock' truck.

now i get you, but i thinks its more like im 5 yea5rs old not 30 lols

ive been looking at the Mini LST2 cheap half decent for the price and upgradeable.

just befor i brought the micro t i new works was ending, but i thought ill get another week or two out of it i had a hpi vorza sitting in my shoppinbg cart, but work finshed quicker then expected spewing, so i brought this, the charge and spektrum radio thinking ill get soem thing else soon and im half way there.

my step father been bugging me to research some brushless cars and trucks for him, he knows about the savage flux, he used to drive my hopped up nitro savages and enjoyed them but doesn't like the tipping over, hes been asking me about the revo,s but ive need been keen on them back when they had the 3.3 nitro motori just didnt like them, they are the same car now just brushless, so ive sent him some links on the mini brusless revo, the mini lst2 and the hpi vorsa and a couple other well known brushless cars.

hes seen and driven the micro t i have and thinks its nuts for its size and took him a bit to get used to not using any more then 3mm of throttle or it just spins out, but i think hes more into off road, i always tryed to get him to buy a large scale petrol but, having worked wth 2 strokes most of his life i guess hes over them.

a little update on my micro t i took it over a friends for a bbq and a couple of drinks we gave it a bashing out side after the bbq we moved the table and chairs out of the large dinning room and flogged around inside couldnt get any traction on the lino, on the carpet wheelies and constant back flips with bald tyres.

there was only 4 adults around and one child my daughter the poor little truck got trodden on a few times, but didnt break but i think the last time it got step on whith full throttle it stripped the diff gears, it was still driving but i knew it was going so we kept driving it untill the car wouldnt move no more as you do.

so im impressed the gear box has no bushes left in it, the spur and pinion is a little sad but we managed to get 4 more battery packs through it untillt he diff finaly let go.

about 2.5 weeks ago i orded some diff gears from ebay in the usa, so im hoping they will be here tomorow will all my alloy parts from the toyz and mabe my speky radio.

so i will rebuild the diff if the new diff gears are here if not ill just expoxy the gears together and keep running it untill the spur gear and pinion strip out from having to much wobble at the moment i have 6 or 7 shims in the gear box trying to stop the spur gear woble form the brass bushed being totaly worn out, my new gear boxs should be here mid week.

totaly fun, cool little car worth the coin

... especially considering the SIZE of the screws - they're watch-sized tiny. If you see the 'dogbones', they're something else again !!
I'm trying to keep my 4 year old away from it, but that just makes him want it more .... !!!
The 'cute' factor is undeniable!
Al.

they are tinny and mabe a little fiddly but thats half the fun and yes your right its the cuteness factor of them great fun

ive been askedwhere do i get my parts and what parts did i use on this build sofar, well ive buying load of parts from ebay, the toyz.com amainhobbies.com

the parts ive used to do the brushless convertion sofar is.

because the micro,s (micro t, dt, high roller, baja and raminator) have a electronic speed controller and recveiver built into one, you just cant add a brushless esc to the car you need to use another recevier.

http://www.losi.com/Products/Features.aspx?ProdId=LOSB0830

here is the losi instructions on the brushless conversion using a spektrum sr3500 reciver, this is the path im going down, im a futaba radio man after years of using spectrum but futaba don't make a reciver thats samll enough.

http://www.losi.com/ProdInfo/Files/Micro_Brushless_Conversion_Guide_v2.pdf

this is the brushless motor system i used, you hear good and bad about them, mines working great sofar

http://www.losi.com/Products/Features.aspx?ProdId=LOSB9595

one of the first upgrades i did to make wheel removal easyer was this, the stocker wheels are held on with tinny little e-clips (painfull)

http://www.losi.com/Products/Features.aspx?ProdId=LOSB1507

this is a good mod i did this the same time i did the above threaded axels the stock trucks have plastic bushes for bearings on the rear hubs and in the front wheels, the bearings seam to give you a tad more speed and slightly better run times, recomend for brushless also.

http://www.losi.com/Products/Features.aspx?ProdId=LOSB1528

this is the lipo battery i used, the dt and highroller can fit slightly larger batteries, to convert a micro t do a dt is around 30 bucks, the t is more of a wheel machine lols

http://www.losi.com/Products/Features.aspx?ProdId=LOSB0863

the upgrades i recomend is firmer springs on the rear like these, losi make a spring set also pritty cheap with difrent types in the set, you can find them in the about website from losi to get the part numbers.

http://www.thetoyz.com/cart/thetoyz_details.lasso?id=10870&cat_name=MICRO T . BAJA, DT

this is the second upgrade i recomend for long term use and brushless upgrades, since the stock gear box used brass bushes for bearings and theres not much grease in the gear box they waer out quick, this is a common and recomended upgrade grear box with bearings.

http://www.thetoyz.com/cart/thetoyz_details.lasso?id=10341&cat_name=MICRO T . BAJA, DT

and after the trucks had a few runs i think this is a good idea, diff shimming

this is a great site to look about befor or after buying a losi micro

i was thinking of a larger square like 15x15 foot or larger so it takes up most of the shed floor to make a track, using rope or some thing simluar to define the track and so theres no corner cutting, but i been thinking of gluing or stictch the rope or so on to the carpet once im happy with the layout so then it can be rolled up and and pushed to one side of the shed, so i still can work on my real car and so on, then once im ready to use it again i can roll it back out and the track lay out is still there and no need for restting up.

i think if i do it this way i will use it and no go arr buger it i cant be bothered laying the track out again, i feel it needs to be made of carpet for some traction and the track need to be defined enough the car or cars can not drive over the track and cut coners, jumps and bumbs can be added and moved around the track pritty simple, now i just need to come up with the idea of cheaply fixing power cord or rope to the track for a perminate lay out ?

well im still waiting on the diff gears, this arvo i whent to glue mine up and my glue had gone off, bugger so if the diff gears are not here tomorow arvo or mabe the next ill go ahead and glue them up to get a run out of it, my gear box,s i orded well i got a phone call monday saying they only had one left, so i got them to send that and a spur gear set since ive been running this on with no cover and the gears have had a hammering, they should be here friday.

im hopping by the end of the week my spektrum sr3500 recvier will be here and the alloy parts from the toyzs and some other bits from ebay.com, then in another 2 or 3 weeks the micro dt will be here and i can get serious about this all alloy build, yesterday i also orded some spare tyres and a ball bearing alloy gear box from the states so it will be any where from 2 to 3 weeks for them.

today the dx3e turned up, well it was here yesterday but i was a bit bussy, im a futaba man but i couldnt find a futaba reciver small enough for this thing realy, i used spekies for years with nitro when minimal range was need but large scale the spekies i used and mates used where usualy of the short with range, but i keep hearing good things about them and im told they are getting better, so im intrested to see how much range i get with this cheap dx3e.

first impresions it looks good feels ok nice and light with 4aa batteries, the trigger resistance seams a tad soft and i have not looked into if you can adjust that like the old spekie radio, it has the steering rate witch i think these little cars realy need, they need the steering slowed right down when traverling at speed, so i think that will be a bonus and the radio looks simple as but has the basic,s of whats needed and i got it for the right price it should be a good radio for a micro.......

if any ones owned or used one feel free to report back your findings cheers benckie

well tonight i had a little win, i won a micro desert truck from ebay usa the other night, the truck looks like its in good nick, the truck has a dead battery that will not charge and a faulty receiver electronic speed controller combo, but every thing else is ment to work and if the mulity pictures from ebay are correct it looks like new, ill try and bring the battery back to life and i need a stock switch for a mod im thinking about off the faulty reciver esc combo.

i payed just under $72 usd aprox $74 aud with paypals dodgy conversion rates with works out around 50% of the cost of the truck new, but since i will be converting this to brushless and all alloy parts instead of the micro t i don't need the radio, the losi quick charger, losi manual and the original big box the truck comes in cause i have these parts working from my micro t.

well to cut a long story short i was refunded $26 usd just over $26 aud for the shipping on the truck since it now can be sent in a much smaller box cause i don't need the other rtr items, so this leaves me some extra pocket moeny for a couple of items i need to finsh the build, like i still need a micro dt alloy shock tower since the alloy micro t one is difrent and since i broke the alloy hr bumber from 100 hard knocks and a few to many bending it into shape i need a new one im going to buy another one and try a black delrin plastic one.

ill also get a stock micro t chassis to convert my micro t back to stock since i shaved off the reciver and esc mounting post to fit the brushless esc and 3 wire rx, so im pritty stoked i got a complete micro dt truck for $46 bucks shipped, just a little more then converting my micro t to a dt but i get the hole truck.

the wins with rc as you know are some times far and inbetween.

its a 1/36 scale but a tad bigger then the micro -t im playing with.

well still no diff gears in the mail so i brought this stuff, not sure it will work as it will not glue polyethylene or polypropylene plastic,s not sure what the losi diff gears are made off ? but ill give it a go and see what happens lols

i picked up my gear box set and spur gear set from the post office today, i orded it cash on delivery as i didnt think they would have these parts in stock so if they didnt have them no big deal and it would be easyer then getting a visa card refund, i did order a couple of gear box sets but they only had one, i got these from standbridges hobbies in perth western australia aprox 250 km up the road the c.o.d charge was $18.90 so $33.80 aud all up ouch considering i only brought a complete micro desert truck of eaby and it was $46 aud including shipping lols.

ouch but here they are it will fix my spur gear woble for a while untill my ball bearing alloy gear box is here.

today i ordered a micro t chassis set, an rpm wide derlin plastic front bumper an micro dt alloy front shock tower and some buillet motor conectors for some thing down the track
