I can make the mould easy, did that type of stuff in art college
if I make the mould for my 5t, can I get someone to do the lexan
part, with the oven etc?
well what you use in art college?

Yeah will do but still need to find out what to use for the mould?
fibre glass,plaster which mould you talking about..the new body you want to make...or the mould you want to vacuum form from?
 
am trying to make my own shell... no :lol::lol: but am using milk bottles the plastic in them easy to shape..once i got the shell design i'll then cover it in plaster bandage..then put that mould in a sand box and fill it with plaster pairs

I want to make the mould so I can vacum it with the lexan sheeting
and the stuff I used in college was van aken plastalina clay.......... not the best stuff to use (hard to work with) but I'll go with Chop's idea, foam block and car filler will do the trick.
 
I use for boats molds (cockpits, sponsons, turbine etc) the green foam you find in the plant shops. It is easy to carve. When the mold is done the mold gets a thin layer of fiberglas. Easy to do and they are cheap! :)
I am thinking to do my self a 1/6 LAmborghini Murcielago to convert my 1/6 buggy in a onroad car. Maybe a nice future project.

hi should have some pics soon, got a couple of chassis builds to do aswell now, moved into a bigger workshop so i can make a vacum moulder to the sixe i want,
 
i no this is an old thread but dennis did you get the chance to do this mould ?

ive just got myself a cheap shell and going to add my own design to it after ive made
the mould.

im going to build my own vacuum foamer after the xmas!
 
hi mate, no been waiting for a chap to move out of a unit next to me, i havnt enough space in mine, i have a few foam mould to finish off and then i can build a v former, it should this month he goes i think,
 
This how i had my 5sc shell made by a friend, the hardest part is getting an exact mould of the body
