2 servos. There is a big servo on steering he said was 25kg, and a small 15kg(I think) on the throttle/brake.

There was a fail safe included but not fitted. He said something about it not working with the car, but I wasn't sure what he meant. Doin have to check that out too.

normally a third servo is fitted to the hydro breaks well in theory it is. you paid a good price for it mate looks mint.
do you know how to fit the fail safe in ?, make sure you get a killswitch its vital with 1/5th scales cars as they have a hobbit off running off lol

Ok, I'll have to look into the second servo.

The fail safe goes between the throttle servo and receiver? The bloke I bought it from said this fail safe won't work on this car. I'm not sure why, so need to look at it and get a different one if necessary.

We've had relations staying, so I haven't had time to do much with the car, but next week I should get it sorted.

Cheers

yeah thats how it goes, im not sure why his saying it wont work most failsafes work on all cars just try it and check it out- if i was you i wouldnt bother getting another failsafe get a killswitcch its much better.

Ok thanks for your help, I'll have a look later. I'll order a kill switch if needs be.

Cheers

I've just ordered a kill switch, new batteries and a few other bits.

I just need to decide what gear ratio to go with now when I replace the spur gear.

My Killer Bee Kit 3 arrived early last week. Very impressed with the quick service from Killer Rc :)

So i got the monster beetle out yesterday for the first time and lasted all of 1 minute.
I heard a high pitch metal grinding metal sound and the engine cut out. The pull start was jammed, so i thought the engine had ceased up. I was taking it handy too while the engine warmed up, not doing more than 5mph.

So i brought it home and took it apart.
It turns out the brake rod had snapped and ended up in the pull start fan, jamming it up. The rear brake was removed by the previous owner, and it just runs hydro's on the front.

Ill get the beetle out again today and see how it goes.

Seems unlikely that the brake rod would find its way between the small holes in the pull start?? I assume you mean the brake rod for the hydros as the rear brake had been removed and the rod for this is on the opposite side of the car to the pull start? Check your flywheel is still in 1 piece if it jammed in the pull start.

Everything for the rear brake was still in place, except the disc.

When i took the engine off the car i could then see into the fan and found the piece of the brake rod
One of the small fins on the back of the fan broke off in the process, but everything seems good otherwise.

Cheers
Matt
