Cold, wet, windy St Helens, U.K.
Weather this weekend was terrible.
Off/on drizzly rain on Saturday, pouring nearly all day Sunday .... but.

DID ANYONE SEE LE MANS? !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :w00t::w00t::w00t:
I started out of curiosity during the week and caught the night qualifying - each driver of each car must do 3 race pace laps .... then an Audi T-boned an Aston that had spun 2 seconds in front, going around a corner ... no injuries.
The race? Kinell is all I can say. Qualifying lap pace for 24 hours, weather and fuel load permitting - FANTASTIC racing. McNish totally nuked his Audi, and walked away - they could open and close both doors without problem!!
Then another Audi got turned in on, during the night, but this one was MORE ugly. About 300km/h instead of the McNish 140-160km/h smash (going around a corner)!! A few cuts and bruises, but no major health issues again, and the remaining Audi didn't limp to 'try to finish, but raced the Peugeots, despite Anthony Davidson and Pedro Lamy playing some dirty tactics to try and slow it into the lead following Peugeot, running #2 - DIDN'T WORK!!

Then there was Superbike, then MotoGP .... had to skip them as the wife would kill me for totally blocking the TV - had to watch a movie together!!!

Then ...
F1.
Lewis ... 'nough said. Needs to calm down, but not ....
2 hours of will they, won't they race ...
Then ... Jenson takes it on the last lap - Nappy Kraut (as I call him!!) is human after all!!
Well done Jenson, and nearly brilliantly done Schumi, ending up 4th.

GREAT WEEKEND - the Strongbows helped as well!!!:lol::lol::lol::lol:

Yup, great race weekend. I ended up recording the MotoGP and WSBK races so I could some fabriction and welding on welding on the Baja. I had to take a break for lunch and ended up watching the MotoGP race and the WSBK Race 1.

Must admit I'm a '4-wheeler' myself, but have taken to the MotoGP lately as well!!
Trying not to get tied to SBK as well else I'd never get away from the TV!!
BTCC next weekend isn't it? !!!!

I love watching the touring cars and F1 but I'd rather watch sports at grass roots level like sunday league footy and rugby - because they're there because they want to be not for what they earn. Then there are things like National Autograss, karting and banger racing, again doing it for the love of the sport not the money.

The crashes at Le Mans were very spectacular & both drivers were lucky to walk away relatively unscathed as were the press guys & people in the crowd with the flying wheels & debris. I went a few years ago and its an awesome weekend & hope to be going again in the next few years.

F1 was the best race I have seen in ages. It went a bit boring for a while but seems to have come good again recently. Nice to see Button on top form despite the bad luck that was trying to stop him!

Watched the Moto GP but I think the main event was overshadowed by the 125 race that followed!

Oh and I tinkered with my FG whilst it was pissing down with rain :w00t:

Excellent weekend all round :D

the f1 was good never seen so much action, was very happy for jenson he drove the wheels off his car, watched the tt all last week insane i think is the word for the top guys who race there, 190mph on country lanes, it makes moto gp look a bit to easy,

Yeah, I still love seeing the bit of him on the Barcelona straight, literally wheel-to-wheel with Senna!!
Senna was a little upset!

Nige is still quite a racer now, and I believe THE Racer of all time for me, Sir
Sterling Moss, has only just - last week - hung up his boots and said he won't drive competively again, at 80+ !!!
Still, I can still tune into Sir Sterling on Roary the Racing Car - for my son of course!!
Shame he never won an F1 title - hence his unfortunate pseudonym - the greatest driver never to have won a F1 title!!

I'd always wondered who that voice was.................. I meant my son wondered who that voice was.

Yeah right!!
Where do you reckon the name Silver Hatch came from? !!

If you look at the fine details - oversteer, skid marks, and some of the other names, you can tell there's a real expert somewhere in the background - my money's on Sir Sterling - not that I've analysed it in that much detail course!!:lol::lol:

He's got a small diecast Roary, basic 'clockwork' Roary, push along Roary, remote control Roary and now I've had to get Stunt Roary - not yet received!!
All my fault!! :lol::lol::lol::lol:

A lot of marshals for some motorsport are from a british organisation who do it for expences only paid for by the organiser, can't for the life of me think who it is but I'm pretty sure I'm right.

It was pretty damned scary to watch that live!!
I know the outcome now, but last night I didn't - watching some guy slip backwards in front of what is basically a ballistic killing machine in the wrong hands!!!
He was VERY lucky these guys are so skilled !!

A few 'non-believers' have stopped me at work asking if I saw the race (stupid question really!!) and how good it was!

I must admit, as mentioned above I think, I'm getting tired of Lewis going too far.
Retrospect is easy I know, but someone with his skills should have figured out he was, as DC I think said was trying to get a square pin in a round hole and should have backed off the 'gas' to have a go next time around, or not.
True, it was an opportunity, but one that disappeared before he could get there. ..... broken record.

Don't believe I'm writing this (!!) but I WANTED Schumacher to get onto the podium!! That would certainly put the cat amongst the pigeons!!

Its funny how the guy at the top of his game is always 'hated' but as they get older and become the under-dog everyone wants them to do well. Steve Davis and Stephen Hendry have had similar treatment in snooker to name 2 others.
