According to a person I know that has been in rc for 20+ years leaning off the oil does provide some minor hp gains +/- 0.1hp going from 25:1 to 40:1 for example.

I cant confirm this but trust the person I got this info from.

Other than blowing a bit more smoke using a bit extra oil certainly cant hurt it.

The boat guy's found better performance when raising the amount of oil. Of course they are water cooled units and made for Top speed High RPM'S.

I run a 100:1 oil at 25:1. My amsoil dealer tells me it will be fine to lean out to 50:1 if I'm scared of 100:1. I still wont do it.

I tore down a G260 that had been broke in and run on Amsoil Saber Pro at 25:1 since new (3yrs old). It had a slight tint of brown/black on the top of the piston, compression was great, and the cylinder looked new. I did a rebuild due to age and amount of fuel dumped in and since everyone says you should. I will keep with 25:1 and know my motor will last....

while on the topic of oil, whats everyones take on dual purpose 2 stoke oils (good for pre-mix and injection systems)??? reading the hpi fuelie engine manual it says not to use them. all the zenoah manual says is to use any 2 stroke oil at 25:1. upon searching, i haven't yet found a 2 stroke oil thats only designed for pre-mix applications. amsoil, redline, royal purple, mobil, castrol, even down to the cheap non synthetics are all dual usage 2 stroke oils.

im guessing that its not an issue being i see many of you using the oils i listed above.
