yupper. air filter oil on the ends works too. it's gooey stuff. man I even use the hpi baja filters on my semi. I just hate what dirt does to the innerds. I filled a motor with gunk running in dusty conditions with a crap filter. had to strip that engine and rebuild it. I had planned anywya since it was a stock 23 but man I couldn't believe I had mud in the crank area

cracked the sh*ts with the beast last night. took me over 2 hours to get the radio tray back in after a wash, something that should have taken me less than five mins! rounded a bolt and nothing was working.

managed to get it all back together last night, i need to get my hands on some alloy tubing to re-do the mounts on the alloy radio tray and might also put a new spring in the servo saver.

If you have the alloy servo saver, its worth checking the O-rings.
I had the standard 3mm diameter O-rings on my MT, and 2 had 'perished'.
I've now replaced with the 4mm ones, as I run 2x Rhinos !!

thanks atom, where did you get the bigger o rings from?

id some more work last night getting it ready for the weekend (first club meet).

finished putting the radio tray back in (didnt add any o rings yet, i want to get some alloy tubing to completely re-do the radio tray mounts), re-did my failsafe, notice that when failsafe kicks in it went 50% throttle, not 50% brake! don't WANT THAT!

put in a new clutch, while taking the bolt out of the braket for the pipe that goes into the clutch bell carrier the braket just fell off the pipe, must have knocked the weld off on my last run when I had a couple of rolls. bit surprised coz the rolls were soft.

i need to find a welder locally to get this back on. the pipe still has 2 outher mounting brakets so ill still run, just maybe take it a bit easier until this is back on.

also finsihed fixing the rear rims, last run the innder beadlocks ripped out, not surprised the way this engine is screaming LOL :D

Check out Hobbythek.
The 4mm ones are the thickest, and come as a set of 4, FG Modellsport reference 04493/06.
ID is 6mm, OD is 14mm if you know anyone who can supply. I had a look around and it was difficult to tie down, and when you get to the commercial suppliers, for a purchase, they're not interested in less than 100 or 200 !!
Perhaps if you gave them a call, they'd have a few lying around !!

never ordered off hobbythek before, ill jump online and see what I can find. thanks

current looking for a welder to help me with my bracket problem, not in a rush though.

finished putting the beast back together last night, all clean and ready to get dirty again.

got a new rovan clutch shoes in it and 8K spring, also took a pic of the hostiles on it.

so far ive only run 2 tanks using the hostiles on the best, prior to that ran 3 tanks with them on my 4wd and they were wearing quite slow which is good (considering they are medium compond) but got a feeling they wont last long on the beast.

here a pic of it all clean with the hostiles.

OK there's something strange going on with both my receiver batteries. if anyones followed my 4wd thread they know what im talking about.

basically it seems to drain allot of mah with bugger all useage.

after the weekend, after running 2.5 tanks in it, I charged it at 0.8amps (safe in my opinion, VP Racing 5 cell 6volt 4600mah) and it took about 1200mah. that seems pretty normal to me.

anyone during the week I did some cleaning, took out the radio tray, put it back in, maybe had power to it for 10 mins so i could check my EPA when I put the radio tray back in and thats it. I charged it again last night at 0.5 amps and it took 2200mah and I had to turn it off as I was going to bed, it was still going!

the receiver battery in my 4WD, same brand, same specs, does exactly the same thing.

WHY???

you either have some serious drain problem or you have a cel going bad. take a voltmeter and check the voltage of each individual cel and see what you get. you might find you have a cel much different than the rest

that thing is pretty as hell man.. ive seen some wicked 5thscalers on this forum thumps up to everyone :)

Got any video's off it running.

vido to be loaded shortly, got a mate who took some bashing action yeasterday.

pipe do you mean multimeters or something different? sorry not very good with electrics.

had an awesome bash session yeasterday with Greg stu and JD at ordish rd. It was a little wet as the following photo's will show but heaps of fun.

this thing is running so awesome ATM, really loving the performance.

decided to run four rears on it as i wanted to try four fronts on my 4wd. worked well on the 4WD but no so well on this one, too much steering slop which im hoping to look at this week.

going to give it a wash tonight :D

i gotta take the battery covering apart to do that don't I?

would i also have to disconect the cells from each other to get an accurate reading?
