hope so but got a few things to slow me down..

Wife's birthday tomorrow so got to be nice and stay out of the workshop
working 3 days there after so might need a few evenings in the workshop.

bearings got posted through door today and they seem good..

I will pick up parcels in the morning and see if I have got every thing

fingers crossed

Well I got home a bit early today so started on rebuilding.
that's the front end rebuilt minus the shocks.these things are nice to build..not to small and fiddly like the 1/10ths

Huge thanks to Charlieboy for the suspension pins..all fitted and working good.

I missed the postie again today so my diff case is sat waiting for me..I will collect that tomorrow and start on the rear end.

also got to make myself a new alloy radio tray..

so here is the progress so far..complete with cable disks...will do me fine for bashing..

Have you fixed the shock mount using just the top 2 fixing holes? I have the same set up and wondered if I was missing something cos there is a 3rd fixing hole through the front that would screw into the plastic upright if it were used.

Yes just used the standard 2 holes from the plastic into the alloy..thats how it was when bought so thats how it is going back together..

its either that or I will have to start drilling and tapping another hole out..

fed up with running the tap down every thread to start with..not sure what threadlock was used but it was far to strong..think it might have been RED and not blue..had to roast a few bolts to get the threadlock to breakdown.

its all going back together with blue threadlock in very clean threads.

spent ages making sure all suspension droops on its own with no resistance from other parts and so far its looking good.

I really like the look of the brakes..lets hope I can get them working well...mind you they have to be better than no brakes(sorry a brake band)

Are you adding a layshaft brake as well as the front cables? I tried running just the fronts & it felt out of balance.

so far not got a layshaft brake but I think it will require something for balance as you said..

I was thinking about getting something but not sure what and not sure if the wallet will survive another attack.

cheers Ben at least it got me started on the rebuild..

missed the bloody postie again today so diff is in limbo..lol I should get it tomorrow and get stuck in to the rear suspension..

I also need to cut out an alloy radio tray so that will slow me down again..

I hope to get the shock seals sorted via my old work but he thinks they are a bast*** size ....looks like I might need to buy FG ones.

Just add 2 front posts to the plastic tray to stop the flex when applying the brake. Works well enough.

hhhmmmm probably would have worked..lol but the 2 rear posts are fooked.. 1 is broken off and 1 is split. :w00t:

I have the alloy sheet here now so will percy vear (who ever he is) and get it cut out..worth it in the long run.

I will just have to be nice to the wife and spend a bit longer in the workshop tomorrow..

speaking of which...bed time...
