super not being smart here but compitition models come complete alloy including shock mounts!!

where was this got so,must be anew model for 09..

i have never seen a comp beetle model for sale!!!

Uh oh, the FG comps only come with a plastic shock mount.:blush: All the models come in plastic. That is one of the complaints right now.:no:

Believe me I had to check twice to figure out why???

i second that btb.

i think if somebody pays for a comp model,the two shock mounts should be alloy too,they are an expensive enough upgrade.

what else isnt alloy if its a comp model,strange also one shock at either end.

otherwise fab model and im not cutting it in anyway,just strange for a full on comp model i think...

I'm with you! Ridiculous piece to keep out of the model. If you buy a Baja they don't make an upgraded alloy shock mount you have to make your own out of a Elcon one.:no:
I emailed FG and they say right now there is no upgrade for the Baja shock support but they may in the future. Silly ain't it?:laugh:

also i do not like that standard fg drivetrain set up being honest mine was a disaster untill i upgraded it,a friend of mine had a comp mt and he said it still moved away from the rear diff gear driving the belt,it is exactly same set up,not to mention stones running in along the belt when ran on gravel,he complained it was hard to keep the belt on in some off road conditions.

i hope they have these improved.

they are same set up on drivetrain btb,only differnce is a belt where the diff cover is.

will be intresting to see how this model fairs out.

This model just came out. FG did not have a 4wd before this model. You friend may of had the Kamitro aftermarket one. The FG's is completely enclosed so as to not let stones get near the drive train, belt or differential.
