I look forward to seeing it run. If your out at fear farm this weekend I'll have to come check it out.

This morning I did a 'dress rehearsal'. I installed the batteries, receiver battery, esc, roll cage, and body. I ran into a snag w/ the body. It needs to be trimmed in order to fit the elevated roll cage. Also I discovered the rear chassis plastic piece the body mounts to doesn't fit any longer. It interferes w/ the rear motor mount. I'll try to come up w/ another way of mounting it but it's essential to mounting the body. I guess I could simply not mount the body if I run out of time for Saturday.

I got the body on. This is the dress up picture. I still need to loctite everything and get the bullet connectors soldered on (when they show up).

This morning I soldered the motor wires directly to the esc wires. If my bullet connectors do not show up today then I'll solder the batteries together in series and use the left over connectors to solder them to the esc battery wires. I need to test this thing out today before trekking out to FF.

Do it up take it out then if the connectors come in put them on good luck bro
It's a weak excuse but I'm running a little low on shrink tube so I have to plan accordingly.

Gear and gear cover question. Do you guys load the gears and gear cover w/ grease to reduce friction? There's a ton of friction w/ those gears (i.e. all that noise), can we lube them up?

Also, any other items things I should be thinking of before bringing it to the track for the first time?

All wired up: :

In all it only ran for about 4 mins. The batteries and esc were very cool. The motor a little warmer at 120F. I need to figure out a way to get air over it b/c right now the esc and diff is blocking it. So FF Looks like it'll be on.

Keeping the fingers crossed we stay dry. Rained almost all day in the east valley. They are forecasting more for tomorrow but us zonies know that doesn't mean a thing.

I was following the ff thread on rctech, it looks like they just got a sprinkle and they are planning on practice tonight.

I was really impressed by the 10K rpm spring and how much power this thing had off the line. Sorry it's so short.
