There's some sort of current limiter on the controller so it sips amps. The kids have been driving it on and off all day. I'm sure you could get easily over an hour out of those batteries.

That latest is I installed the savox 0235 servo. I do not recommend it b/c it's a bear to mount. It's bigger than the stock servo and poses all sorts of issues. The turnigy 1270hv servo on the other hand is almost a drop in. It's the same size as the stock and the stock horn fits. But you need to drill two extra mounting holes in the tower to mount all 4 screws otherwise just 2 line up. I also put the belt drive back on. This weekend I hope to test it all out at the track.

That's what has to be done to mount the 5755, no biggie. :)
Are you saying the 5755 is the same as the turnigy or savox? The Savox I had to lengthen the brake servo plate and drill new holes in the chassis for the tower.

Are you go to FF on Sunday?

The same as the Turnigy. Drops right in but holes are off.

I might head out there. I've been crazy busy.

It was a horrendous day at the track. I manage to only drive for less than 5 minutes. After 4 minutes the Savox servo gave up. I will never buy one of those again. I hope I can send it back. I sort of suspected something was wrong w/ it when I was putting it in. But everyone swears by them so I went along. The servo simply lets you move the horn by hand when it's on. But the strange thing is when you take the top cover off the servo works properly. Anyway I put the turnigy in and it was golden.....for 1 minute.

Half a lap later, I took a bad landing and broke the arm off of the left bell crank. The funny thing is I loosened up the slipper too. So that was my day. I had 2 sets of batteries, extra suspension arms, steering links, servo, etc and the bell crank breaks. Such a bummer.

Right now i'm coming up w/ a bolt on bell crank. I turned down the broken arm on the post and now I'm going to make one out of aluminum that clamps to the plastic. If the plastic doesn't hold then I'll make the post out of aluminum as well.

I made up the part talked about above. I'm actually thinking about doing the same on the other side. I figure if I cut it up then waiting till it breaks might break more than just the arm.

It was a pretty good crash I guess, one of the front dogbones bent. I had to hammer it straight.

I'm going back tomorrow....redo. I have to figure this thing out before the nitro challenge.

Today I went through 2 battery packs before I broke a front cvd. RCDAD is 050009 the right part# for this?

I really had different expectations. I had thought all along I would be fighting the modifications I've made to the DR not the stock parts. I'm still learning. Maybe I can make a coupling for around the axle stub to help from cracking it w/ the pin.

I'm starting to think this thing needs a bumper in the front (and maybe rear) to protect the wheels from being the first things to impact. Would the MT V3 bumper fit on the DR? If yes, is it made out of the same plastic as the roll cage? If yes, I don't think I want it as I'm in the market for a new roll cage. Does anyone know if the aluminum roll cage is worth it?

Yes 050009 are the CVDs that fit. You can also run dog bones and cups. Some have less trouble with that set up.

The mt bumper would fit as it is the same front end and I personally would try out a worx bumper or uber rc as I want a more protective bumper. What aluminum roll cage are you talking about as the only one I am aware of is the one for the x series vehicles. U guess a baja one will fit but not directly and I haven't been wanting to fork out money just to see if it fits yet.

Do you have a link to the uber or worx bumper? I can't seem to find the aluminum cage, maybe I imagined it :)
