Looks great with the longer wheelbase, but do Alu-Tec do alternative MT side panels?
Are yours flapping quite a bit when running?
How well is the body mounted without the side panels being well-braced?

they have a rubber seal inside the header. like an o ring. I haven't found anything that fits. trying to solve that problem now myself while I have the semi stripped. not enough room with the spring clip thing to get a rubber coupler on either (on mine, I had to shorten the header or the pipe hit my semi body).

if I find a suitable o ring I'll pass it along
 
The chassie is the standard length and the body doesent seem to flap around to much.The pipe is fixed now.I got new samba o rings and a new samba spring.It seems to have stopped leaking now.Still have no brakes maybe a while away as im about to rebuild my 5b as ive been collecting plenty of goodies.
 
Well i got the brakes working and are putting a new motor in.A zen 4 bolt 29 with a lightened piston.But it doesent stop there,Ive decided to pimp this baby right out with all elcon alloy.I placed a large order with an elcon agent here in brisbane.I just recieved rear shock tower and rear upper wishbones.Still waitng for rear uprights,rear lower wishbones as my old ones are bent,front shock tower, bulk head a and b and the quick release shock mounts. Once they arive ill order front wishbones and the bearings that go with them and then let the build begin.
 
hiya, just read your thread, impressive truck. you've had a good buy there mate - a serious lack of plastic too!! LOL.. it looks great with all the elcon, very strong. and i bet it shifts with what you've done to the engine :)

you gonna get a short video up of it soon?

Im not sure, I have 3 off them that came with the FG.I also have a smartech traveller i picked up for $300 complete stock and bearly used.Its my donner car for bolts and bit and pieces.
 
Trip it would be nice but i have a 5b 5T and a gas hydro on the go aswell.

i'm intrigued... is that trevor simpson etched on the side?? it's true what they say isn't it, no matter how long you've dabbled with RC, you'll always come across something new to the eye - like this crankcase you've bought. i can't quite make it out on the photo, but what's on the end of that scoop?
 
Was ready to put my 4 bolt in last night and after having a quick inspection thru the inlet and exhaust port i noticed a small black line on the piston.So after taking the head off this is what i found.

The engines only 8 months old and seemed to still run sweet.Luckly theres not a mark on the bore.There is a small part of the piston missing so hopfuly
its been spat out or its still in the crank case.Will split flush and rebuild with new piston and ring.
