Well Fast... They seem to hold up pretty well. I've driven for a tank or two on gravel with no ill effect. They seemed to lean a little bit on cornering, but they are T height, so....fastlane said:let me know how those tires hold up I like the way they look
Well, took 'em out for some wide open lot running to test out the 31/29 gear setup and topend. After about 45 minutes of hard acceleration and hard stopping (these things actually scream a little when they slide to a halt!) they showed a little wear. Nothing major, but the lugs are now rougher than they were (I should say that it was about 85 gegrees and sunny this day and the pavement was fresh BLACK-top, so IT was prbly about 115 degrees)...but I don't think in it affect their performance in any way.
I have my susp topped out *(ed. note) so the frame doesn't hit at full bottom...and I have the RC4WD shocks and FLM towers....so I expected a lot of lean on pavement. I was entirely prepared to walk to the end of the lot and flip my buggy back onto its wheels. It actually stayed upright! Under full throttle and at steer lock turns it raised the inside front wheel off the ground, but it had enough slide to it to stay on its feet, and make a WIDE turn
However, while I stayed on its feet, it did start to limp... I noticed one rear tire bouncing like all hell after 20 or so minutes. It looked like it was out of balance, but there was no way I could've got a gravel jammed into the wheel. Stopped it and ran my hand over the wheel and there was a big-ass bulge it it.
Took it home and found all the foams were now falling out into the floor in small pieces
All in all, the tires get the gold star
So, I think I'm gonna go the "funnoodle" route and make my own foams. Foams aside, the tires seem like they're gonna last a while, and they have some awesome grip in grass and dirt!
* This is good for me, I jump a lot... But i've found out that it also puts undue force on the steering nuckles. It makes the turnbuckles bind and I bent one of the knuckles. I put a nut under the the ballend at the knuckle to raise it up some and lessen the angle of the turnbuckle, but I'm afraid it's just gonna magnify any torque that the knucke sees now. If you tumble and roll alot or are prone to hitting poop (I warped one and bent it back....but after hittin a solid rock i was touching the rim of the wheel) I wouldn't run the susp as high as I do....just a word of warning..... Knuckle come in pairs, so you'll have a spare when you EF one up, but still, that's just extra $...
