Seems the hs840/845 are the choice for bashers due to price and the SGT1000/1005 is the choice for hard racing for long life. You don't see much about the S9010/9020 either anymore.
So do the SGT1000/1005/1100's require an EXTRA battery to be installed? Looks like I see specs of 11.1v ~ 14.8v. What would happen if you try to run those servos with 7.4v?
 
No it doesn't require an extra battery. The battery is supplied in the kit, and would take place of your current 7.4v battery. It uses a dip switch to regulate the proper voltage to your throttle/ brake servo. It's a whole kit in one, nothing else is really needed
