For 500+ bucks I can buy an OBR , and those engines will last 50x longer and be wwaaayy faster than that thing . I'll pass ?

LOL...That was my thoughts exactly!...(y)

The 35 cc Rovan that I purchased was only $ 110 bucks ,I chose it just to get my buggy going as I don't want to
spend a whole lot on it ,in the future ,I want something better to run!....

Im about to go back in to rc buggy again...had one in 2008..hpi baja 23 cc, now i was thinking of the rovan 45cc to start with..change engine and clutch first thing! Futaba rx tx and hi tec servos, i wanted the rcmax 80cc engine,2200 pounds!!!!crazy!i think ill get something else...what do you guys think? For bashing in the desert of south israel...

There is several things to consider ,when you do get into larger engine displacements ,they have a heck of a lot more compression & power ,
One thing for sure ,they need better quality parts like stronger pull start system ,clutch assembly ,an the drive train beefed up!

23cc doesn't cut it no more ,I just bought the Rovan 35 cc engine ,it kicks out descent ,so the 45 cc would probably be pretty
extreme for a 2 wheel drive buggy like a Baja ,but I wouldnt touch the 71 cc Rovan at that price ,I would save the coin for a
better engine ,even if your have to lower the cc factor!...

Those engines already come with pullstart and clutch ECT.

Can't go wrong with rcmax or alx. But if you don't want to jump that far I'd look at the obr 32-34 reed. 500-600 range I believe. Can't go wrong with that ? then go bigger whenever you are ready .
