I recently got into the RC world by accident and ended up with a Losi DBXL gas car. Thing is a blast to run but I have an issue I can't find the correct info for in the manuals. Currently have the Spektrum dx3 and sr315 receiver. I added a kill switch and went through the process of binding it where I ran into issues doing it wrong.

I did a factory reset on the receiver and now I'm jammed up as nothing is working right. I followed the transmitter instructions to re-bind and now i don't have throttle (have brakes) and steering is way out of sorts. The steering trim doesn't adjust in small increments but instead jumps a lot and I can't set end points or anything. There has to be a step I'm missing. SPEKTRUM has failsafes in place when you re-bind and I'm thinking this is causing issues. It has two options in the manual (Standard and Preset Gas)

neither seem to be working properly and I can't set endpoints or throttle / brake etc.

I did switch the servo pins as well and do have throttle using the steering pin spot and some steering. Brakes trigger works to steer but throttle doesn't do anything.

Any ideas what I am doing wrong after a factory reset mode?

Went with the Dynamite, the kill switch functions as it should but I must of did something when I went to bind it after shutting it off as instructions stated. I was messing with it some more and tested transmitter to receiver outputs with a multimeter and throttle pull I got nothing. I pulled the DX3 apart a little and check connections for the trigger and that seems to have fixed it partially.

I now have everything working to a point but when I try to sent end points I end up dead in the water. I disconnected the kill switch completely and tried everything to reset but now the trim settings aren't working like they did.

When I try to set end points the knob to slowly adjust doesn't do anything till its turned 90 degrees or more then the servo horn jumps a huge distance instead of slowly adjusting like it should. I saw a sequence where to hold full throttle, release to neutral, full brake release to neutral the left/ right but it doesn't do anything for me (might be only for battery ran cars) so not sure.

Switching out the tx/rx today. I just can't get this DX3 to bind properly for some reason. Sometimes when I bind I have everything working except the limit knobs properly, other times I have no throttle or no reverse. Something is going on with binding and I just can't figure out what. Tried all the resets in the manual and failsafes etc.

i too have a dbxl and dynamite kill switch. i swapped the stock radio for a fly sky gt3b, 3 channel, costs $50 and fairly easy to tune and use with the remote kill switch. the spectrum radios that come with losi rtr's are just junk.

I went with the radiolink rc6gs v2 and hooked up and everything is back to normal. Just have to program the kill switch function. Not sure what is going on with the Spektrum dx3 when it binds but it's making everything go nuts.

Got everything set up and it's working correctly. I'm new to all this but the radiolink set up seems pretty damn good for the cost. Controller does feel a bit cheap but for me it works. Super easy to set up and everything working like it should.

How the DBXL is sitting currently, I got bored and added lights to it for some night runs in the park near me.
