So I finally pulled my car apart to have a good nosey, and see its already got a 4600mah NiMH pack in it, so not really much need to change it at them moment. But my question is what settings should I charge it at? Theres no info on the pack and of course you can't see thru the wrap to see any details on the cells (generic pink wrapped pack). I have an intelligent charger for my LiPos which has adjustable peak current and delta-v sensitivity but no idea what to really set them too for a pack this size. I left it on 1.5a and default delta-v and got 3200mah in it from being too flat for the steering servo to not move, but didnt really want to do a full discharge-charge cycle with the wrong settings

You should be able to charge at 4.6 amps. I would personally set it to 3 amps so it doesn't get too hot wile charging. Also it depends in the battery, when I had piles if nimh batteries I would check with the mfg and see what c rate I could charge at. Normally 1c is conservative balance of charge time and longevity. You will see the pack start to drop off in performance towards the end of its life. don't charge it from half charge. It should be taken to min voltage and then charged up to full charge. If not they have a tendency to develop "memory" and will not take full charge or discharge to rated capacity. It doesn't hurt to cycle them in the charger every now and then as well
