I knew I'd get you guys in here, :w00t:
I'd like to convert or at least make it an easy swap to on-road.

I'm lookin for on-road wheels/tires for my Leo.
Can someone please provide me with part numbers for them?

Can you guys recommend any mods for my basically stock Leo (30.5 and JP pipe) to handle better on-road?
Shocks, alloy, gearing, etc,,,,,,,,,
I'd be willing to actually swap to have two sets of each. Plus, its good preventative maintanence, while its apart its a good time to clean and lube.

Thanks:flowers:

Does anyone have any pics of Leos runnin on-road gear?

This isnt going to be a race set up, just a basher.
Lol, I'm going with the helical gear set instead of the 2 speed.

Thanks Pipeous, I'd like to get an extra set for on-road duty.

What's everyones opinion on the 4wd conversion?
edit: will it work with the helical gear set? not sure it will.
Thanks

I use offroad shocks on the semi, I just have stiff springs and swaybars. hell even the rims are the same size. I have reds on front and blues on back. the blues are super stiff though so I cut some silvers down about an inch long and put them above the blues instead of a ton of spacers. it gave me a dual rate effect.

Wow, sharp lookin ride.
Good idea with the shocks and springs. I'll look for a set.
Do you happen to have any more shots of your truck?

Thanks, I appreciate the help.

lots and lots over time and different experiments with springs and shocks. to get it built with what I had at the time, I used a lower arm on the upper and cut the middle out. it just turned out to be the right camber and I have never changed it. truck handles really good now and planted (ask any of my buds, I let them all drive it). I still spin out here and there but due to braking while turning or too hard on the gas coming out of a corner... driver error. I just picked up 3 more spring sets from sharkey (traded an extra alum dif case I had for a bag of shock goodies).

I have alum lower rear arms, motor side plate and am going to adapt a set of front cable brakes to the back. not much left to do to the truck. put my light kit with brake switch and sending it to Dino at Jet Pro... he's making me a set of custom stacks to replace the samba

Thanks for everything Pipeous, those pics are great.
I'm starting my search for parts as we type, lol
Custom stacks??????? OOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHH, thats going to be hot.
Thanks again, I appreciate it.

I'm actually pretty excited to take some pics, its been a while and last few pics I have taken were pretty bad, it was dirty to. I'm going to update my photobucket with plenty of pics. Its finding the parts for my Leo thats harder than expected.
I found a few things on ebay-uk, just need to see if they will ship.

How's your on-road conversion for your Marder coming along?

Does anyone have any info on what on-road wheels/tires would fit my Leo?
Thanks fellas

I might have a line on some slicks. With that lil hold on NYC income tax that slows my 4x4 kit. Still talkin with dino from Jet Pro about a pipe so I wont have to hack the new body on the way like my last Beetle body.

The on road slicks should fit no problem. I think some of the guys @ flyod use them on there Leopard. Any plans to run the new style beetle body on your leo?

btw my boy got the 2 speed. He said it looks good.

KauseKaos,
Oh yeah, those slicks come with wheels? How many sets are available?
I hear yah, my 4wd kits is a no go, nothing available for Leos. Are you having a pipe made from JP to? How do you guys get hooked up, or is it somehting you can just get on there site and ask for? I'd like a custom pipe too, lol.
I like the slicks you had on your Marder, that looked great. Plenty of clearance to.

If I can find a fiberglass Beetle body, yes I would get one, then I wont have to hack as much with my JP pipe.

Good, I'm glad he's happy with it.

pipeous,

I like the F1s, they look good. Where can I see these Race Truck slicks?
Or, are they the same ones Kause had on his buggy?
So both F1s and Race Trucks wheels will fit?
I'm going to go look for them, thanks guys

For now I put the stock Marder pipe back on. Just call Jet Pro and talk with Dino. If you cant find a set used (racing truck slicks) I would say order form FG Supply. They are like 30 bucks cheaper a set then DDM. Only thing is that they arent in stock.

Thanks for the info on the pipe.
Have you tried Largescalerc.com ?

To get a custom made pipe from Jet Pro, I sent him my rc. I am sending my race truck down in the next week to get custom stacks done (and he can use my platform to make on road pipes for other fg owners, we all win)

sickboy makes fg bodies. he is doing one for the Nutech which is 520mm wheelbase. the Leo is about the same

That pipe is going to be sick pipe. All you on-road guys win :( not us off-road who want to be on-road guys, lol.

doesn't sickboy make fiberglass bodies?

Random question: Will FG Tuning brakes part # 06250/06 fit a FG Baja?
Thanks

Front Tuning disk brake for Leopard/Pajero/Marder Race... I can't see why not. it's the mt one that has the tall cable holder you have to watch for, though I have a set on my semi so I dunno

Thanks pipe, I appreciate the info.

On a side note, may have found some wheels/tires. I'll let ya know in a bit. Oh and a bit of alloy to :)
