Recently my Zenoah G320 rc wouldn’t start . It kept flooding . I changed the carb and same thing . I checked to coil and it’s good . The only thing that looks odd is the piston . I noticed slight burning to the top of it . I’m going to change it and see if that overcomes the issue . Here’s a pic of the piston . Has anyone had this issue ?

That piston looks great, your fighting a battle you'll never win with an engine. Regardless of a 2 stroke or a 4 stroke your going to get some form of carbon build up on the top of the piston. A 2 stroke will have more as it burns the lubrication oil in the power stroke. What's your technique on starting because most likely it's the way your trying to start the engine. Here's what normal build up looks like. You basically pulled the cylinder for no reason, while your there you may as well get the esp top end. I find the esp top ends much more user friendly with starting as the porting and increase in compression aids in starting.

Left is a few hours of use and the right is months of use. Both pistons are fine.

Thermal Barrier

ThermBar™

A thermal barrier coating helps keep the heat in the combustion gases and out of the piston. Our ThermBar piston crown coating is a ceramic-metallic coating which reflects heat back into the combustion chamber and improves engine operation
  • Helps reduce piston temperature and extend reliable part life
  • Keeping the piston cooler can reduce skirt collapse in extreme running conditions
  • 2 stroke engines can be tuned to run just slightly leaner for more power without damage
  • ThermBar™ can also be applied to valve faces and stems, exhaust ports and combustion chambers

I wonder how this would work and/or if it would help. Have used their coating quite a few times and had good results in race engine applications.

  • 2 stroke engines can be tuned to run just slightly leaner for more power without damage ( so they claim) = interesting.
