So im chilling driving around my street annoying neighbours with my LT, still breakin in my awesome new zenoah engine and all of sudden she dies.
Pulled few times to start her up, finally started, im thinking ok, thats strange, theres fuel and everything looks fine. Few seconds later dies and doesn't want to start, behaves like theres no spark, so my first suspicion - something with remote killswitch, but no. At home quick check and yes, plug doesn't give spark.
but its brand new plug, looks still like new, so im almost sure it must be ignition, taking the engine out, checking everything, all looks good.
So after some time checking different things, im putting steel thing into coil to see if it gives shock - and sure gives!
Getting old plug from my 45cc, fortunately its the same ngk type, and voila - works like new. TO make sure i put ori one again and no spark.
So ok, spark plug died after not even 2 fuel tanks, whats up with that? Neven seen something like this, strange. Anyway im glad thats only plug :D
cuz i have pretty much ptsd after dealing with rovans 45cc and taking engine out after every few minutes of run 😂
So im REALLY hoping i will not have to pull out that zenoah again until i want to just change something

right on, next time will just try new plug instead of pulling whole freaking engine out and wasting 2hours 😂👍
but at least i sealed exhaust with special silicone by the way cuz it was leaking.
it just never happened to me like thatt so plug was for me like almost last suspect

always check the simplest thing first mate, that being the plug (y),
or, check its getting fuel, then check its getting spark and go for the easy bits first,
also if it happens again always check the push to kill switch on the engine, sometimes they stick in and just cut the spark altogether,

Welcome to owning a 2 stroke that's ran on excessively high oil ratios and pussy fitting around with it... fouled plug..... back in the old dirt bike days of you wernt wide open or close to it you would eat a plug. Always kept plenty on hand. Get used to it.
The funny thing is that both plugs from my cheap baja and lt are still both working with over 10+ tanks of almost constant WOT driving, while the one from ori zenoah died without reason after 1.5 tanks. Yes i knoe its not zenoah fault, and all those are japan ngk plugs and its just bad luck but still its pretty funny when u think about it.
And again, its not fauled i can show u photo it looks like new, it behaves like its shorted circut internally or broken connection but nothing visible on the outside.
Anyway its not a big deal, again im happy its JUST plug, consumable, and not actual fault of engine component like ignition.
