I just watched a diy video on YouTube. I have a custom set of burnishers at work too. We have various tools for porting and polishing too that I found while digging through the shop Friday.

Is this something that I would notice a difference in terms of power or nah?
 
Let the carb alone. And actually if your not porting the engine don't mess with the intake either. I've found they are port matched fairly well from the factory. I also found that too much material taken out of the factory intake leads to very quick breakage. Also polishing an intake tract is kinda a no no. You want some roughness to help the air and fuel mix. Now exhaust side. Go ahead and make it chrome for all it matters

I'm not doing any porting! I'm definitely not cutting into this motor lol. When the day comes I'll buy an rc max motor or an OBR and call it a day lol but I definitely won't be doing any trenching or porting on my baby lol

I've never ever heard of anyone WANTING the surface of the air intake to be rough. Look at 1:1 cars, their like a mirror on high performance ones.

Looks like I'll be watching YouTube videos and researching all day while I wait for my exhaust and clutch springs to get here from Dave's ??

DDM is legit when it comes to getting ur items out the door ASAP.
I’m in south Florida, usually orders arrive in 2-3 days tops ??

Detroit performance is also top notch with shipping!

Rcmax over seas is also insane with shipping I’ve gotten items in less then 5 days from them. Last time it only took 3 days which is insane since they are across the pond LOL

That is indeed impressive!
 
No go look up actual porting not cnc cookie cutter porting. Combustion chambers, and exhaust knock yourself out. You need a bit of turbulence to get the fuel to mix right. Theres even swirl polishing for intank elbows. Or go look up dimpling of intakes. It looks like a gulf ball. Makes more power. Believe me im not off my rocker. There are exceptions but were not talking forced induction either.

Ill go look at that right now! Thanks man ???

When I say cnc I more so meant like burnishing. I can get down to a 2 surface finish which is unbelievable smooth for not grinding or polishing. It works essentially by flattening the microscopic waves that exist within the actual surface. It flattens the tops of those peaks with extreme pressure and you end up with a perfectly round incredibly smooth surface. I'm sure I just explained that to everyone who already knew but it makes me feel better ?

I'm getting 4-5, 2 cycle engine's from my brother in law this coming week so I might try out some of these ideas
 
I was head engineer for one of the biggest plastic extrusion die companies in the world. We actually patended, built, and designed the machines that allowed them to put their signature air bubble in the heel. Nike came by all the time with free swag but never shoes ?
 
Oh hey since you got that many engines coming. I have a junk cylinder I'll be playing with later this week. I'll post up a few "safe" porting tricks to do. (Just ignore the extra ports. It's a strato saw. Need to see how far I can push this topend before I bolt the new one on)
