:confused:hey guys i have a problem i have a traxxas tq 2.4ghz radio in it and i have radio control but when i start the engine i loose control i have no steering or throttle what's so ever as soon as the engine dies i have control again is there a short from the coil affecting the radio????

Are you sure the receiver power plug isn't coming loose with the engine vibrations?

I had a problem with a 5th scale where I was getting interference from the spark plug cable.

I wrapped it with a few layers of aluminum foil and then vinyl tape. No more problems after that.

i had interferance/glitching while mine was running too. it was caused by the exhaust hanger loop. the metal on metal contact but not total loss of signal. try to isolate your hanger with some fuel tube. if not the dx3e is only 99 bucks with tx rx and a servo included.

hey pistol when u say isolate the hanger what do u mean by that i have a dom side pipe on it do u mean thehanger that bolt to the frame put some rubber in between and then tighten it up again it's kinda weird when the turn it off everything works good the only thing is when i turn it on that's when everything goes buts

some radios are sensitive to that kind of vibration, i still have one of my 1/8th scales that would run off no matter what you had in it, but i did find out since the car was not anodized i was getting the interference from the engine mounts to the chassis, once i put a thin layer of rubber between it i never had a problem again, normally with these trucks we don't have that problem, but it could be that your receiver might be due to be replaced, i'm kinda there with my spectrum, it's goin on 14 months old and now when i run it every 2 min. the failsafe kicks in, i tried a spare receiver from largescale and it worked fine, i did notice alot of white dust coming out it, and the circuit board is very loose inside it, so i think it just beat itself to death, lol.

hey guys i have a traxxas link 2.4 4 channel radio the receiver ahs two channels for sterring should i use a y harness and plug the sterring to channel 1 or plug then seperately to each channel this receiver has too sterring channel

ok guys i got a new radio it's a traxxas 2.4 4 channel radio with killer bee v1 kill switch everything works good until i turn the truck on then i have no radio finction and my rx goes into failsafe mode if i leave it like that i see my throttle servo moves weird i'm about the give up on this thingy and it's my first rampage never had any problems with my nitro truck now this this is a pain in the butt i do ahev a side dom on it botled to the frame metal to metal it seems like i'm getting interference from some where please help me with this beast

oh yeah also does it matter witch way the wires from the killer be stop switch goes to the coil and killer bee v1

You lost me when you said you put a Traxxas radio in it. I wouldn't give you the powder it would take to blow any Traxxas radio product to haiti and back.

Throw that thing , cut your losses and get a good radio in that 30 pound truck before you break something or hurt somebody.

Futaba 3PM is good radio and under $200 for their 2.4

this radio seen to be good i was looking at the futaba but decided on this 1 i have traxxas radio on my nitros and i have not have any problems with then but everybody different with there radio. but i guess u have no ideas on my situation have u heard of anything like the symptoms i have

It may not be interference but poor conections. I do know that the factory NiMh reciever batterey for the redcat has a bad connector you could be messing with the power input from vibration.

You got your reciever and your batterey in foam?

no i don't have then in foam should i ???? and kent from killer rc said the same thing could be there battery so u say factory battery that came with it it's no good they have problems with then if so what kind of battery do u recomend thanks

http://www.davesmotors.com/s.nl/c.885035/n.1/it.A/id.71/.f or any of these http://www.davesmotors.com/s.nl/c.885035/n.1/it.A/id.6099/.f if i were you i would try a different reciever in your truck. you mentioned you have a tmaxx i believe. if you don't have problems with it try putting your rx from that truck in your rampage first before you go spending money on the wrong thing. i would try to figure out what component is causing your problems.you could also try unplugging your servos one at a time with truck running and see if your problem goes away. i once had a tmaxx that got water in the steering servo and it caused some weired feedback with the reciever anytime i moved the front wheels on the truck by grabbing them with my hand. the throttle servo would glitch badly and the truck would try to take off. do a few expariments and see what you come up with
