Hey y’all I’m back and ready to start getting everything back together, but before I do I have to setup a workspace. I have a spot in my basement that is 8’ on the right wall. 7’ on the back wall and 14’ on the left wall. For now I’m building a temporary set up so I can learn the space and see what works. I’ll probably be setting up two work tables, display shelves for my rigs and storage for parts and tools. Budget for this phase of the build is about $0 so I’ll just reuse most of what.
This is the current space as it stands.

V2 update figured I needed a bit more space so I expanded out into the basement a bit more. Moved some shelves and started organizing all my poop which I never did after the move. Also bought a new track toolbox and some new small bit organizers for screws and such. I also organized my parts so that I have one organizer dedicated to each car I own. Still need to setup my pit box and go through all the screws which will be a large task🤣B9CEDCDE-9931-4AED-AF23-6596F2A2D32F.jpeg67B14DC1-7E7B-4D8D-AA1B-AFB0C99F2C7A.jpeg1D13314B-F090-460D-B0E2-18C19784291C.jpeg9C54015A-EBBD-4F19-8D4F-DAB5F7F30A0A.jpegAB34B053-6018-4D63-AC1C-343115540F9E.jpeg0B766A05-FA67-46A2-8C99-EE35F7D33E8F.jpeg

Been making minor changes but today I emptied the space and did a pretty big update. Here are some before photos

I built a new rack for my cars. The old shelving unit was too bulky and didn’t actually show off my rigs without even having enough room to show all of them off.the new shelf is made out of one 4x8 sheet of 3/4 birch and (4) 5/4 by 6 inch boards for the shelves. Then I installed foam tiles for the floor peg board on the upper wall and plywood on the lower half with a shelf in the middle. I still need to paint the walls and ceiling, add permanent work tables, level and epoxy the floor, run more lights and power outlets into the area but again I have it at a place that I can live with for now.386A3B14-4FD0-4332-ACB2-274F22EA5AA6.jpeg2F569DDD-69CB-4687-8CD3-12830F3DCEC7.jpegE44B3FB0-00FF-40C1-9B29-5B38A905C433.jpeg858714E0-A458-46AD-B7AB-FD50C7BB8C05.jpeg51D04A75-8D78-4FF1-924B-10C97813A010.jpeg

That's awsome, nice and neat very organized. You need a clean space to work, to keep your mind on the job. My last attempt at shelves along the wall left to much space for stuff to pile in around the cars to the point removing the car to use the pile filled in the space for the cars and the lowest level just became a free for all. Keep organizing and cleaning often or the stuff takes over and jobs take longer. If only I could follow my own advice, big plans for my new rc room, hope it turns out as neat as yours

I’m anal with my workspaces. I get so annoyed if the wood shop at my office or my Rc work shop is messy. I hate spending time looking for lost parts or tools🤣
